50+ loaner bike program
A couple of months ago I was in North Carolina on business and rented a bike from an LBS. While riding it I asked another rider for directions and told him I was from out of town. He offered to show me around the trail system and I gladly accepted. We rode and talked for about 3 hours. At the end of the ride before we parted ways he told me the next time I come back not to rent a bike but to call him and he would loan me one of his many bikes. It got me to thinking about loaning out one of my bikes and I have read a couple of threads about renting bikes when you are in an area for a few days. So, if anyone from the 50+ forum is going to be in my area I will loan them a bike for a day or two or a few days. I have a very nice steel frame specialized that you are welcome to take. I would even let someone take a lap or two around the block on my Litespeed, but lets not get to crazy here. So, if anyone is interested, just PM me and we will see how this works out. Anyone else interested in loaning out a bike ?

Great idea! If anyone is near Charlottesville, VA, and you ride a 53-55 cm frame, let me know. Road, touring, folding, an mt. bike available.

I like this idea.
Anyone in the Dayton, Ohio area is welcome to use my 54cm Trek 1800C or a small size mountain bike. Sorry but the Madone is usually in use

Seattle area, Eastside. If 60 cm fits, I've always got spare bikes available.

Same here (north coastal San Diego County), if you don't mind old-school friction shifting . Six years ago I lent a bike to a visiting BFer for several days, including one ride with him. Sharing in this way was a mutually enjoyable experience.

If anyone finds themselves in NE Pennsylvania, there is usually a bicycle or two available in my stable. usually a 56cm vintage road bike or two, along with a comfort bike in a similar size and a smaller one I keep for a friend to ride while in town. I may actually have a modern road bike next year...
