This 50+ Bicyclist Did Not Bicycle to the Funeral
But, I did drive, and our a capella singing group (XYZingers, which I founded, ages 62-78) sang at the funeral, and we got paid. The 2nd time we have gotten a "donation." But neither time did we ask ahead for any money. We thought it was entirely voluntary. We are going to do a big show at a local (Parker, CO) "Steaming Bean" coffee house (1.25 hours, 18 songs or thereabouts) on October 26th. This will be our first time doing something like this. Our longest program to date has been 30 minutes. Come see us! We are also singing at an Alzheimer's facility on September 13, 2007. And I won't be bicycling there, either. But I did bicycle after the funeral. Had a great ride. You can hear the song we sang at the funeral here: http://members.aol.com/dnvrfox/sweethour.wma |
Good harmony, DF, and sounded very nice.

I'm waiting for the pics of the XYZingers on tandems, rolling down the street, singing in harmony to a Dixieland jazz band in a New Orleans funeral parade...
