Birthday Boy Rides His Age
I'll be 65 tomorrow (Saturday, 22nd), I did the deed today, one day early because of prior commitments for tomorrow. The route I chose was rolling to hilly, temps were high of 84f/28.8c and very humid. Consumed one PBJ sandwich, one sub sandwich, numerous leftover McDonald's jelly packs and six bottles of water. Although I've done lots of long rides this season, today's ride was not that easy for some reason. Perhaps I'm finally feeling my age.
Overall it was a good ride on my Bianchi, good weather and good beer waiting for me at home.

Congrats! The only bad thing about riding your age on you birthday is every year you have to go farther.

Boy, I hope I can say the same thing when I hit 65. I would be mightily impressed with myself.

Doing my 70th birthday ride tomorrow. Easier than doing it in 10 years time.
Well done Louis-But I can't remember seeing a picture of your Bianchi online- When, and if, it recovers- post a picture of it sometime.

Good luck on your ride-of-passage, Stepfam. Here are some snapshots of Louis' Bianchi. I got several ideas from his photos, when I was setting my touring bike up:

Thanks everyone for the nice remarks and birthday greetings. Thanks Motorad for posting the link to my Bianchi for stapfan and others. This is the first long ride it has been on, at least in this incarnation. The bike is capable of far more than I.
