Forrest Gump Curve on Grandfather Mtn Trivia

Interesting trivia around how Forrest Gump curve about 3/4 the way up Grandfather Mountain got its name. I didn't realize Tom Hank's brother was his stand-in........Watching the video might better help demonstrate how steep this section is versus the pictures. I tried looking at my Garmin via Motion based and am guessing this stretch is 11-12%. A little later it jumps to 20% for a stretch.

My brother and I.....he finished a few minutes ahead of me. But since he's 12 yrs younger I just keep telling him to wait and see what he can do at 55!!! Yep, we have the same model bikes and paint schemes but you might notice he's riding Topo wheels.
