Hey, why am I a SENIOR member?

Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but there for a while I enjoyed being a JUNIOR member of this forum. Come to find out that somehow I've been re-classified as a SENIOR member. I didn't age all that much over the past two months. Or so I claim. I never misrepresented my age and I liked being JUNIOR.

OK, OK, I know what's going on. However, we should come up with better titles for different numbers of posts. Especially in this sub-forum.

Yours truly,

Be glad you are a "Senior" member because, well, you know what the next designation is....? I need say no more.

You must be a parent. My parents said the same sorts of things to me, and I said the same sorts of things to my kids. Oops! However, there is no reason that we can't change things to suit us better. I thought we went through all that in the '60s. "We want the world, and we want it...NOW!"

I think that rather than have a designation of "Senior Member," something like "Experienced Poster" or "Loquacious One" or even "Garrulity RulZ, d00d!" would be more politic.

Just my 2 cents worth. For now.

Stop complaining, go to "control panel" > "edit profile" and change it to anything you might like.

Stop confusing me with facts! Actually, thanks for the info. I'll go do exactly that, I was just having fun. "We want the world and we want it...NOW!" That was The Doors, actually.

First you resent the content of the magazine (AARP mag) and that someone thinks your are getting old. Then you start understanding the content of the magazine (you are on the downhill slide). Following that comes appreciation and then (gasp) looking for content that relates too you. This all happens if you don't die young and by the time you realize that it is too late to die young.

Sounds like me.

I remember being carded when I was 28 by an oriental waitress who looked 14. Then when was I 49, I was asked if I got a senior discount. What a shock that was. What happened in 21 years to make me look like a "senior"? But now I figure if they want to give me a senior discount I'll accept it. Funny thing is my wife is an AARP member and they seemed to track her down. They've never contacted me.

Oh it doesn't take much to get the old farts stirring. Besides who else can we pick on? The young folks just don't get it.

When you post more than a certain number of times you automatically move from junior to senior status. It has nothing to do with age. It seems the threshhold is relatively low, like 20 or 25 times. I was a bit surprised that I had become a senior member so quickly.

You see a problem, I see opportunity!

Now you can legitimately spray paint "Seniors Rule" on highway overpasses.

I joined the 50+ and I started as newbie, junior member and one day I got on line, I was a senior and had some reservations about it. Hence, I added the line "not quite a senior". I need few more years to attain that status and receive full benefits of being classified as one such as discount coffee at McD, public transit fares, theaters and other discounts applicable to seniors. I still get carded once in awhile when I visit liquor store despite the display of grey hairs and thinning on top. But I appear to be a young senior and the reason for getting carded now and then. and being refused discount for coffee at McD.

There are obviously a limited number of Junior memberships available and when your time is up............its up. By the way.....your have not as yet responded to the request for immediate payment of the increased cost of a senior membership..............the membership committee would like to know if its going to be apple, pumpkin or one of the more exotic flavors.

You guys are hilarious this whole thread sounds like a bunch of cackling old women at a quilting bee.....

A senior is just an older junior with attitude.....

Thanks for making me laugh!!!

Oh and by the way I would be willing to sell my "Junior" Status to anyone interested for a nominal fee.

When I worked at a pizza place, I would always card women who looked to be in their mid 20's. They always delighted in it. I figured it was good P.R., making the customers happy.

The last time I personally got carded was when I was 36. I was on my honeymoon actually. Now that I have grey in my beard getting carded is unlikely.

No toes stepped on. Not even a toe overlap. Just some friendly advice and empowerment. Sorry if we intimidated you. No one can tell you what you should have there. Why do you think that we changed our lines to silly stuff like "Pedaled too far". WE don't want to be Senior Members either.
