Which Forum?
 

Not sure how many people look at other forums here, I lurk in a few. Which one of the more esoteric forums would you say is the biggest hoot:

Those A&S guys are scary. Give me PnR anyday. Of course anyone who looks at my posting history will know this.

Don't spend a lot of time on any of those, but Living Car Free can be a hoot when someone asks for advice on HOW to transport a firearm on a bike, and the thread degenerates into a brawl over WHETHER one should transport a gun on a bike (or even be allowed to own a gun).

Living Car Free is a lot like P&R, except most of the conservatives get disgusted and leave.

Foo, definitely. I note how many young ladies are constantly posting their pictures over there. I note that without comment.

The other two would probably crank up my blood pressure, and I bike to keep it down, so I never go there.

This is my only regular stop at bfn. I do occasionally check the Texas regional forum and the recumbent forum.

A&S has great fights. Highly recommended. I left Living Car Free when the Utility Cycling subforum arrived, since I have no real interest in living car free.

I voted for Foo by default, but I haven't spent much time in any of those forums. 50+, Bike Mechanics, Mountain Biking and Road Cycling are my usual stops, in that order of frequency. Classic and Vintage, Touring, Commuting, General Cycling Discussion and Coupon Forum are occasional stops. Tour de France is probably the most contentious forum I visit, but only around the time of the race or whan big scandals break.

I tend to hang out in the Alt-Bikes, Commuting, Living Car Free and Recumbent forums with occasional visits to Bike Mechanics, Vintage, A&S and Utility forums.

I think that Alt-Bikes is the most fun. It's one of the smallest forums, but the most open to new ideas.

I used to look at the Mountain biking Forum- but it got too juvenile for me in the end. Then Tandem section and my only problem with this forum is that I am one of the few Offroad riders in this section. I have a Tandem that has the wrong forks on- I have wheels that are overbuilt and too heavy and I ought to spend another $10,000 and get a bike that is going to work. Then there is the road forum and a I do have a road bike- Admittedly a little known manufacturer So it can't be as good as the Bontrager equipped Taiwan made bike distributed by a well known american manufacturer. Plus the fact that I cannot put up with all the slanging matches that seem to go on.

So in the main- I am on the 50+ forum- but even this has a few problem areas. I do not have a white recumbent fitted with fancy lugs and a brooks saddle- I do feel a little left out at times but I do like pie so I am in.

I check out the Great Lakes forum and the long distance forum on a pretty regular basis. If I'm just generally interested in what is being said I check out the "view new posts"

A&S. Those kids are just so funny. It's a great place to visit when the evening is slow.

This is funny. Until about 5 minutes ago I didn't even realize those forums existed.

hey Classic and Vintage is the nicest forum. I came in through that one so I was shocked when I first went to Road for instance, with all the bs there. Commuting is interesting to me as is Long Distance Cycling. I like the Women's forum, too. This one is pretty good, too. Lately I've been posting a little more on the SoCal regional one...

Commuting is full of good info, as is Mechanics. I visit NorCal a lot.
Road is goo for laugh, and a arguement about nothing that won't stop. Mention Bikesdirect.com and it's good for 100 posts. A&S is just crazy. Who are those people?
This is by far the best place.

A&S is like Monty Python without the film.

Foo is a good place to hear a 15 year old tell you what Bob Dylan is all about.

P&R is not a healthy place for folks like me who are given to hypertension.

I do enjoy reading Long Distance, Recumbent, Bike Mech., C&V and Pacific Northwest.

I remember reading some lesser known Shakespeare comedy, and I suddenly thought of the Marx Brothers. From then on it was EXACTLY like the Marx Brothers, and I finally understood how funny Shakespeare really was.

What's P & R and A & S, never been in either?

Have been to Foo see no reason to go back. I generally hang in 3 or 4 forums (So. Cal Regional, Clyde, 50+ and mountain bike, sometimes women's). Don't have time really to hit the others. Barely have time to come here!

I find all three pretty good for a diversion. They all have a regular crowd, like Crum in P&R, and many are pretty predictable in their positions and some topics like vehicular cycling in A&S and global warming in P&R can get people stirred up pretty good, say 7 pages good. I like all of the personalities of the regulars and will dive in once in awhile but it takes a pretty strong mind to hang in P&R unless you just want to drop down to name calling which occurs a bit too often there, especially lately. If you have not dropped in give it try and just don't take things too seriously.

Geezzzz - I checked some of these out and they are too silly for my taste. I did find another poster who was using my AE Newman Avatar so I had to change. I'll stay here thank you very much!
