I bought a 2004 BECAUSE it would hold my bikes inside.
My bikes require 38" of height to clear with a front fork mount.. The 2004 models had way more. For one bike I just tumbled one seat forward and put the bike in diagonally.
2 bikes required backseat removal.
The new models in 2006 went to fold flat seats and lost cargo height. I measured around 36" at the dealer. If you only need 36 inches it will fit, you're in luck.
