I'm sorry, what did you just say - I couldn't hear you? Could you speak just a bit louder?

One of the compensating things about aging memory is that you soon forget that you forgot and there is no frustration. Well at least for yourself. Others may have some but I forget what I was going to say about that.

I have a method of dealing with short term memory loss. I just go have a beer and wait for long term memory to kick in.

I've been told you get cranky when you get older. But I think that's silly, and if anybody disagrees, then just step outside and we'll settle it, old fart to old fart ...

There are two really bad problems with growing older. One is memory loss, and I forget what the other was.

It makes it more important to tell the truth when you can't remember the lies that you've told people.

That reminds me of one of my favorite song lines by John Hiatt (I have dozens of favorite Hiatt lines) from Buffalo River Home:

The nice thing about ageing is that you are getting older and wiser...well at least older.

* People who can not count.

So, there were two older couples having dinner at the home of one of the couples. After a fine meal, the gentlemen retired to the living room while the ladies remained in the kitchen to clean up. The men, their minds still on food began talking about good restaurants. One said "We had a great meal at a restaurant last night but I can't remember the name of the place". After trying to remember for several minutes he finally said "What the name of that red flower with thorns?" "A rose?" the other replied. "Yea, that's it" .. then he called out "Hey Rose, what's the name of the restaurant we ate at last night?"
