Smiles Per Miles
The Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas will be having its big ride of the year on Saturday Dec 1. The ride is 1 mile long.
BACA is an advocacy organization so we leave the big rides to other bicycle clubs. But our ride has the most smiles per mile. It's the Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade.

Looks like great fun but only 1 Mile? That is short but I suppose you can enter 20 times to get a decent ride in.

Our volunteer bike group often does parades for the parks and they're always fun. A couple years ago we did a night time holiday parade and our bikes were decorated with lots of lights. It started sleeting and we ended up pushing the bikes on icy streets

This looks like a great idea. I may just have to steal it for my club.

Go for it. I got started because I wanted a place to ride the chopper. I looked on line for a local parade and got lucky because I was right in the registration time. I put the idea before the Bicycle Advocacy and they went for it.
This was our 3rd year. And I think it was the best. The weather was perfect.
This time a couple of people from the Arkansas Sustainability Network brought their tall bikes along. Those were real crowd pleasers. We had road bikes, mountain bikes, a home-made recumbent and a tandem recumbent. I took the low end and did tight doughnuts with my chopper which also pleased the crowd. I saw a couple of guys on foldies on the side of the parade and invited them along with the group. They accepted immediately.
