Help me choose photos for an exhibition
My LBS is having a cycling photo exhibition. They have asked me to be sure to enter. Each photographer may enter three photos. One from each photographer will be enlarged, mounted and shown in the exhibition. Rules.
Help me pick which three to enter. I've set up a poll in my gallery. There are 16 photos on two pages. You may choose up to three photos, one in each category of First, Second, and Third. (Click on the thumbnail for larger, click on larger for huge.)
Full disclosure: I've already decided on one of them, no matter how many or how few votes it gets. To balance that, I've added a ringer which will not be entered under any circumstances.
View the candidates and vote for your faves.
Thanks for your help!

Your vote thing appears to only record 1 of my votes. I can only click 1 button per page, and voting, then selecting another photo just changes the vote.
But being as my votes should count the most, second only to yours, they are
1. Geoffrey learns to ride (looks better bigger)
2. Cyclocross racer descends through the woods (love the color and motion)
3. Riding under the Erie Canal on Culvert Road (needs just a tiny kiss of photoshop)

Photography is my first love and I especially like candid street photography so I think 'Cruisers at the Crit' is just a great urban candid street shot.

I liked the open road shot. The big, clouded sky with all its panarama over the long desolate highway.
It was great!!

I Love some of your Shots Bruce. I think a number of them are pretty good. Of course I've seen some of the competition too and yours will be right in there!
Nice to have an inside line huh! LOL!

I see those guys (cruisers at the Crit) at the Shop from time to time. They ride together especially on the weekend. Couple of nice guys.
This Photo Comp is a neat idea. I just need to make sure I have my camera there to take Pics of the Pics! I'll make sure we post em here too.

Your shot of the mailbox by Perth brought back memories. I have a shot of that from my coast to coast trip.

Huh? That blown out glow is a delight, and a wonderful part of the photo. There's no detail there to burn anyway.
And dodge the rest? This photo doesn't need more detail in the shadows, it needs just a hair less at the top.
It's not an evidence photo, it' about the mood of riding through a dark tunnel. It needs to be bold and exiting, not classically technical.
But we agree on this: Nice shot.

I voted for 2 and 5, but I think they all look pretty good.

Thanks, folks! Keep the comments coming.
Cruisers at the Crit: I had seen these guys a year ago and was really hoping they'd show this year so I could get a pic. They were really impressed that some white guy in lycra wanted their pic.
Riding under the Erie Canal on Culvert Road: I've been playing with it already. I go back and forth on ceiling detail. I'll keep at it. That road, BTW, is the only road under the Erie Canal. It was built in 1823.
Geoffrey learns to ride: Wow! I'm really surprised at the reaction to this one. I just threw it into the group because it's a nice memory. With the bland parking lot and the cluttered background, I haven't been thinking of it as much more than a personal snap. It's not the ringer, BTW.
Descent to Seneca Lake: I loved the clouds that day. Interestingly, everyone behind me stopped and took that shot when I did. One even thanked me. "I'd have just kept riding," she told me.
Mailbox on The Perth Road between Westport and Perth Ontario: I'm still not quite sure if I'm happy that it's a bike, or sad the bike is no longer ridden. Spinninwheels: Very cool that you recognized it. My parents' cottage is nearby. I use it as a base for my Week of Metric Centuries and the ride from Westport to Perth was one of my favorites.
Cyclocross racer descends through the woods: The color and motion are what I like too. I shot two dozen at that spot and this is the only one that did what I wanted. When I first saw it I went, "Whoa".

It's the expression of absolute delight on his face that makes it a winner!

Nice shots. I also like the rest of your rides gallery.
I am using gallery V2 (just upgraded from V1) for my family photo album. I was not aware of the capability to have votes. It looks like you set yours up from within gallery. How did you do it? - I can't see the capability in V2.

Thanks. It's been fun getting back into photography.
I don't know about Gallery2. I tried it out, didn't care for it, and reverted to version 1.x. The poll is a native function of G1, accessed from the Album Actions drop-down.

Shame that they are having the enlargement and mount done. Some of those would be really nice printed on canvas as a fine art print.
I voted for the Twilight criterium and the decnding to lake Senica

The LBS emailed this morning:
Caption: Riding Culvert Road, the only road under the Erie Canal.
I've re-ordered the candidate photos in the gallery by the number of points they received in the voting. You can see them here.
Thanks again to all who helped!
For those of you in this neck of the woods, the exhibit is Thursday and Friday, December 13 and 14 from 7-9pm at Full Moon Vista Bike & Sport, 180 Saint Paul St, Downtown Rochester (between the Inner Loop and Andrews St).
Edit: Oh cool! All the photos entered for the exhibit are here: https://www.fullmoonvista.com/exhibits.html#photos
Of them, one from each photographer was chosen.
Bruce,
We picked one of your pictures to be displayed @ the exhibit! "Riding Culvert Road" was one of the favorites.

Now that the voting is over and the picture has been chosen, what was your choice and which one was the ringer?
