Just whinin'.
Man, was I gassed today. Just flat out dead.
I went out last night -it was in the high 40's (pretty cool for the coast) and I was going against a 14-20 mph NNW head wind just about the whole way, it seems. The kind of wind that just smacks you to a crawl when it gusts. It was pushing from the side and the front and sometimes from thesideandthefront. I only did 10 miles but I felt everyone of them. I was pretty zapped when I got home.
I didn't really feel highly motivated this morning -heck, I didn't feel motivated at all- but it just looked so nice out and I knew I'd feel guilty, so I made myself go. A ride I've done, what feels like 1000 times. Just my standard loop around town. When I turned around to go back home, for the first time I just wished I didn't have to ride back. I would have quit right there if I could have. It was still fun being on the bike but I just felt like I was pedaling in sludge. It was all could do to keep pushing my way back. The only reason I didn't call Mrs S and ask her to come get me was pride. I still managed to squeeze out 18 but I took the easiest way back that I could find.
Today was just a labor -literally- of love. I can't wait to go back out again
Just whining. It's not just for Deeg.

I think we all have days like that. What suprises me is that they tend to
sneak up on you. And then a couple days later , when you think you're completely
wiped out you clock the best ride of the season...go figure?!?!
Happy trails

Those rides that are just a bit difficult just hit you the day after.
To me- It sounds as if you bonked- or nearly bonked- on the first ride. As no mention of pie has been made-Did you have a good go at replenishing energy after the first ride? Try a bowl of Porridge before you go to bed tonight- Or at least a good Carbo-hydrate snack. does seem to work for me.

Those suckers can really be draining. On top of that, I just started a course of antibiotics.
No, no pie last night... unless you count pizza (hey, it's a pie). I had 3 slices of pizza and some bucatoni on the side. Plenty of carbs. In fact, Friday night is pasta night 'round here. Saturday, Mrs S does her aerobics and I ride so we started loading up a bit on Fridays just for that reason.

Had one of those struggle day's myself so don't feel bad. Cold north head wind all the way home. Didn't feel like going out today but forced myself. Sometimes you just need to give yourself a break. You could always stay home and play your axe instead..

I spent a good part of the re-constructing and remixing a tune I recorded (here at home) a couple of years ago. I haven't done a whole lot of "studio work" since I got back into cycling. Hard to serve two (or three. Or four. Can't forget the pup. And the Mrs) masters. I forgot how much fun that is but that's a whole other black hole of time to fall into.
