Today's the big day ... I'm 50.

Been lousy weather and haven't been on the bike in a couple of weeks ... maybe it'll get better soon and I can get out, but Illinois winters are a pain.

I hope the day is actually going better than your post sounds.

Happy B-Day and welcome to our club!

Strangely, SE Michigan winter seem easier than my recollection of Chicago winters.

Congrats on your birthday, now you won't need to get carded at the 50-plusser bar!

Hey, barkeep! Birthday drinks for Mike!

Congratulations, Mike! Did you ride this morning in Washington? You surely didn't let a little moisture stop you! Of course, I'd already know if I had gone, wouldn't I?

Happy birthday!

It has been a long Illinois winter, but spring is almost here. Spring is almost here. Spring is almost here. Spring is almost here.

Happy Birthday! I was celebrating my seventh birthday on the day you were born. I'm 57 today. I didn't start riding a road bike until after my 50th birthday, so you've got a head start on me. It's sunny and warm here (Austin, TX) today, but still not a good day to go riding. We are having wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph, not good for a birthday ride. Time to go out for dinner with the wife and then cake and ice cream with the kids! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Ride On!

I'm in Illinois too. Buy a good light and some studded tires. Makes me look forward to Illinois weather. Happy b-day.

What I find hard to take is that Mike is not only younger than my younger sister, but is also 5 months younger than my little brother Larry. Yet Mike is 50.

How can that be?

I know we are an un-select group that will let any goofy person in*, but I'll vouch for Mike as one of the good guys. Then again, maybe he doesn't want me vouching for him.

Let's not name names, but you goofy people know who you are!

It is. The alternative to not making to 50 is much less appealing.
