No need to buy a bike yet.
Had a new brand new boy grand baby born on Thursday. He's number 11 for me, but every one feels like the first. Mama and baby are both doing fine at home.
I've kind of taken on the responsibility of making sure that all of the grand kids have decent bikes to ride but I'm thinking I've got a bit of time before Seth will be ready.
Oh, and he's got long fingers. You know what that means.

Long gloves?
Congratulations. I'm hoping it will be a long time before I have that wonderful experience.

He can reach the brifters easier.
Well done on the new addition to the fold. Hopefully you didn't have much to do with it- But at this rate you'll be able to field your own Football team in a couple of years time.

Congratulations on the new grandson, Retro.
My granddaughters did several bike trips with me. Unfortunately they're now in college, married, etc and I'm waiting on those great-grandkids to get old enough to ride.

Congratulations on the new grandson, he'll be keeping you busy. With all those kids you can start your own racing team.

I've done some day rides with various of the grand kids but never a week long tour.
When he was about 14 I took my oldest grandson with me to do tech support for a big (350 rider) week-long ride. He was GRRRREAT! Not only did he show some genuine mechanical ability but I was truely impressed with how well he handled the adult riders, a few of whom weren't so pleasant.

One of my other daughters has triplett sons that are now 7 (they got brand new Redline bikes last summer). By the time that they get to be around 16 I'm thinking it might be more efficient to install a conveyor belt from the supermarket to her kitchen.

When my wifes son had a baby she was at the LBS looking at cute little bikes before the kid was born.
So, congrats, and go shopping.

I have a client who had a baby. Her husband just bought the kid his first bike for Christmas. He's not yet two. (The baby, not the husband.) Congratulations!!
