Dear Craigslist sellers:

It's brakes, not breaks.

Just sayin'.

(Obviously not referring to anyone on this forum, all of whom are old enough to know better.)

Yeah, and it's "Only rode three times," not "Only road three times."

To pick nits, it's not a complete sentence. If it were it might read "It was only ridden three times."

The Internet is a frustrating place for the Grammar Police. My tongue is full of holes.

Craigslist? Try the Road or Commuting forums. I'm pretty casual, and type very badly. I'm not very picky. But sometimes my head hurts after I've visited those forums.

Hmmm, that's interesting, I just found the spell checker in the upper right corner of the message box. I didn't know it was there.
It would appear that many others don't know its there either.

Perhaps I was playing hooky from school that day, but another one I can't understand is using "then" instead of "than".

"I like my bike better then yours".

It hits me like fingernails on a chalkboard.

All this shows is a reliance of the Educational System on modern technology instead of the 3 "R"'s. Spell checking with a computer instead of a basic Grounding in reading, riting and rithmetic.

But get these younsters to programme in Satelite to the TV or set the clock on the Microwave- and you will see that we have our faults too.

Truer words were never spoken. I am a complete bozo when forced to deal with anything like that.

These kids have turned the word text into a verb. My grandkids can text their friends while carrying on an intelligent conversation with someone in person.

I can barely figure out my cell phone.

Firefox has a spell checker -- every time my flying fingers double-strike a key, the word shows up underlined. Right-click on it and I'm offered the correct spelling, as well as some other choices. I like it.
