Prepare to be envious...
I'm about to cycle up for the first time in several weeks. I have to pick out just the right short sleeved jersey because the temperature is 80 degrees. I have to find my sunscreen, which is around here somewhere. I must remember to take plenty of water. Where are those sunglasses?
Oh, the humanity!

80! That's too warm for me. I have those northern european genes that tend to wilt when the temp gets much above 75. It was a perfect 57 degrees here today. I really don't need much more than that, especially in Feb. But then I'm the type that dreads the dog days of August.

I would be envious except...today is our household unofficial "Summer
in February". This morning I turned the thermostat up to 71 degrees (from
66 degrees) and put it on hold. One day every February, the wife and I
turn up the furnace, break out the shorts and "T" shirts and
bask in warmth.
Tomorrow it's back to reality, and a visit to the beach for "Winterfest"
celebration...Ice Sculptures, Snow Sculptures, Polar Plunge (a jump into
the lake for the young and foolish, and the Chilli-Chalange.

It got up to 35 last monday and tuesday and the roads were finally clear of slush, and I got the first two rides of the year in. Since then we've had 10 more inches of snow. 80 degrees eh. Prepare to be envious my $#*.

I would love to see a temp above 50 at present. Getting close at around 45 tomorrow- so the TCR is set up with the hill climbing Gears- it has been polished to get rid of the oil marks on the white bits (Again) I hate white. And I have dug out the long sleeve light fleece to put under the windproof top coat. All I have to do now is find the energy for the planned ride.

A few scenes from today's ride. The last scene is a "MUP," well, actually a way to ride over the freeway.

Thanks for the pictures and reports. I am reaching that sad point where memories of good riding weather are beginning to fade.

Does the phrase "Bugger Off" strike a chord??
It might actually make it to double digits here tomorrow, and its been slush riding all week, though I did see a bright light in the sky for a half hour or so this afternoon, I think its called the Sun, but its been so long I'm not sure...

I lived in both Indiana and Colorado. I was not a cyclist then. Good thing, I don't know how I would have survived the winters.
I now live in Central Texas (Leander, northwest of Austin). Went out for a wonderful club ride today. Sunny, 76 degrees, 11% RH, light winds. Yup, something can be said for living in the south and being a cyclist.
Ride On!

I've gotta side w/ BIKENC on this'n. 80 is almost too warm for cycling. ...and WAY too warm for XC skiing. #2 son and I broke out the touring boards and did about 5 miles today. Perfect blue sky weather, and views of the Cascades that a lot of folks would kill for.

Heh heh! We broke a sweat today riding in almost-80 degrees with a deep blue sky and lots of snow still on the mountains. Lots of riders out including a gal wearing short shorts, a mid-rift top (or was it a sports bra?).

80, eh? That's warmer than my favorite riding temps, but still within my comfort zone. I'm okay up to about 86-87. We are still about 4 months from temps in the 80s.
I would love for it to be 50. Really looking forward to when we get that warm. Our average high hits 50 on March 28th, but we usually get a few days at 50+ before then. I think the last time we hit 50 was in early November. Tomorrow I would love for it to be 20.
Our average highs are 70+ from May 14 thorugh Sept 28, or 4 and a half months of 70s & 80s.
