My dilemma for the day.

Was packing up for my ride today, and just realized I left my cellphone at work yesterday. I'm headed out of town tomorrow morning, so I need to get it. Also need to get a bike ride in today.

Do I:
- Ride straight to work, get phone, return to do chores? 20 mile round trip.
- Take the ride I was planning to take, detour into downtown Seattle, snag the phone, and come back home? 45 mile round trip.

Weather: light mist, clearing soon, 40 degrees.
Teenaged kids: still asleep

Either way, as I leave the house, I'm shouting, "off to get my phone, see ya' soon.."

Suppose you had better make certain that they know where you are. Another good way to annoy them is to play Classical Music loud as you make the coffee.

Its a no- brainer- If its cold- 20 miles- if Warm- 45 ----If the kids are bigger than you---do a century and stay out till they calm down

So, of course, I went for the "long" option...I get to the office, and my cellphone isn't there. So, instead of leisurely lunch downtown at Pike Market, I pedal furiously back home, and find my cellphone in a jacket pocket. Anyway, beautiful ride...a little wet when I started, now it's warming up. I need to run an errand on my bike a little later, so all in the day will be about 43 miles of riding.

Some pics of a rare, dry winter day in Seattle...

happy bike...that's Interstate 90 floating bridge in the back; the bikelane is on the left hand side of the road. It's an important part of the Seattle biking infrastructure; the shortest way from the Eastside to downtown Seattle. It's always the coldest part of my commute home from downtown Seattle...this week I went across it 6 times -- 4 dry, 2 in the rain.

Well, at least you got a ride in.

I am home sick with absolutely 0 energy. It got up to 55F, and here I am inside. I did get a 1 mile walk in, after which I was exhausted.

Snow tonight and tomorrow.

Great pictures.

Count yourself lucky.
