Tom: I used one of the available Wordpress blog "themes". Each one is a little different. I chose one with a custom header in which I added the photo at the top (that's Hubby on one of our rides last January). I did a little HTML coding, but you really don't need to know any HTML to maintain a blog. The editor provides a WYSIWYG tool, or you can use the code editor instead. You can also change the theme at any time, but you might lose one or more of the widgets on the page (the smaller text boxes in the sidebars) or the photo in the header if a new theme doesn't support them.
TruF: Thanks for your suggestion. I wanted to add captions as I was typing it, and I'm planning to do that. I agree, they would be helpful. The handsome guy in the 50+ jersey and the ubiquitous gray goatee? Why, that's my Hubby!
On his left (in the close-up photo) is Tom (tombunn) who posts in the SoCal forum. We met him, Alice (alicestrong), and George (roadfix) for the first time that morning. Tom found me by my pink helmet... there weren't any others in the crowd.
He did his first century just the week before. On a Roubaix.
I wanted to make some of the images smaller and place them side by side but I was having trouble doing that. I know most HTML because I have my own site, but I've either forgotten how to do that, or it doesn't work in the blog... I'll have to work on that. There are other photos but I didn't want to overwhelm the page.
