Anyone considering riding Cycle NC this Fall?
With this year's Cycle NC spending one night at Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord......knowing the roads around here, the route will have to come within a mile of my house---unless they put them on roads that I'd never ride on because of heavy traffic. I might just opt to have my wife drop me off at the start since her sister lives just a few miles away and then ride the first 3 days........plus it is a great time of the year to camp. Tailor made for me this year!!!
Plus it has to be all downhill since it starts in the mountains and ends at the coast......and the prevailing wind will be at your back.
Hello Bubba!!!!!!!
The 2008 Cycle North Carolina "Mountains to the Coast" ride will be held Saturday, September 27 (check-in) to Saturday, October 4. The ride will begin in Black Mountain and end in Oak Island.
The tentative overnight towns are: Black Mountain, Morganton, Lincolnton, Concord-Lowes Motor Speedway, Wingate, Laurel Hill, White Lake, and Oak Island
The registration brochure and form will be available in April. You can pick up a Fall Ride Brochure at the 5th Annual Spring Ride in Oriental, NC.
We hope to see you September 27th in Black Mountain for the 10th Annual Cycle North Carolina "Mountains to the Coast" ride!

I'm strongly considering riding that this year. I was hoping to find someone that wanted to leave a car at one end and ride back to black mountain for the other. I live in Mocksville.

That ride looks interesting. I've been looking for goal this year, something new and fun and that ride might just be it!

Hey Joe,
I would like to do this ride...but some family stuff might interfere. I'll know more in a few months.

I'm riding the spring edition in early April. I've ridden 3-days of Cycle NC in the fall several times, but the logistics make it difficult for me. I wish they would make it a loop ride so it would start and end at the same location, while saving everyone the hassle of working out transportation. I seriously considered riding the whole week last fall but decided not to for that reason. However, the spring ride is based in Oriental with loop rides each day, and that is more to my liking, although it's just 3 days.

Yes a loop would be much more practical and I would seriously consider doing the ride then. A loop in the mountains would be great with good climbing and scenery.
