I'm Back

Hi again everyone - I said I'd be back.
Had a great winter - lot's of skiing and lots of boring miles on the trainer. Gained 10 lbs of winter fat that needs to get worked back off. Started back on the road a few weeks ago but getting serious now that we are having a real spring in NY. Washed the bikes tonight, preparing for my first club ride of the year this weekend. Thought I would share a few pics from my trip to Alta in March - 30" of snow in 3 days! I love that place.

Will be preparing for a metric in May, An MS Century in July, The Ididaride in Aug, and then Century's in Sept and Oct. I may also try the Whiteface uphill race in in Mid June but I have a lot of training to do if I want to make that one.

Welcome back. We've picked up some cool new members, had a few beers, some pie, and everyone's starting to get in some miles.

Yes, welcome back.

Do you have a larger image of your avatar that you could share? That's a nice lookin' bike.

Huh, just last night I was thinking, "Where's that fool from Syracuse been lately?"

'Spose I shoulda checked the forum.

You still up for riding the Ididaride together? (Fair warning, it's only two weeks after my riding the Rockies.)

Hmmmm. I meant it as the latter, but depending on how I do in CO, I suppose the former could apply.

tsl - would be glad to ride the ididaride with you - that is unless work or some other bad thing gets in the way. BTW - not from Syracuse - closer to Schenectady.

Tom - As far as the avatar - I found this on google images, not sure I have anything larger.

Found an interesting website: https://www.bikereg.com/
Recretational ride registration as well as races and other events. You can find who is registered.
I plan to use this to set up my ride schedule for the big rides this summer.

Great to be back!!
Put in a good 32 today, tomorrow anotehr 32 with the club, will guage how much work I need to do to regain conditioning from the winter. My 32 today showed a 3/4 mph average increase from two weeks ago when I rode last (a slightly easier version of the same ride). Did it at 15.6 today - my best last year was 17.9. Have some quite a bit more work to do but it is good having goals.
