Rode my age yesterday

Had a lovely ride with the lovely wifeomatic (up to half way), our good friend Sarah (up to 60km) and my pal David who rode my older (but not old) steel 'old reliable' Specialised Sirrus.

One of the last truly perfect days - low wind, and not too hot yet - but hot all the same. About 85 F when we started at 0630, up to 95 when we finished - but low wind which is the problem here (hot sand air rises, sucks in high winds of humid sea air).

We did about 95 KM, which I believe qualifies for my last (April) birthday, 54

If I can upload photos

Uk oh, photos exceeded permissable size - but I'll post this message now 'cos I've started, and then jigger the photos down to reduced size

Looks as though it was a good ride- but you ought to get away from Club colours- All those riders seem to only have a choice of 3 jerseys.

Started to get some decent weather over here too- but can't believe it will last. But 95kms in that heat would take some getting used to. Only a month ago I had to abandon a ride due to snow and frost- and todays ride in the warmth made a world of difference. Hopefully you are as good as Tom taking the weather with you so when are you back in the UK?

I don't know what page it's on but I thought mileage accumulation above 90F was at calculated at 1.745 X measured mileage.

Now there's a man thoroughly enjoying his well earned pie. Good job.

Damn! Another reminder that I forgot pie yesterday
Funny, though... I wore my yellow and black jersey yesterday, too!

Excellent job... big thumbs up!
I guess my age is my next target

Tomorrow, in fact. Set off at 2 am to spend 3 days in North Yorkshire, to be present at my step-father's 90th birthday party. Don't get too many chances for a repeat of that!

I get to see my boy there too - fit and strong 21 year old student geophysicist, studying "Geological Hazards", landslips and earthquakes and their impact on built environments. We've got a date to run in my favourite part of the world, from Burnsall to Grassington and back alongside the River Wharfe. God's own country, so beautiful it's just ridiculous.

I might have time to do a controlled comparison of the merits of Timothy Taylor's "Landlord" bitter, and the Black Sheep Brewery's "Best". Better minds than mine have tried and failed to reach a definitive conclusion, so it might take some time to be certain
