More and More Young un's????

Is it just me or does it seem that in the past several months we're hearing from more and more folks here that are just turning 50??? Plus with most of those there is a familiar and consistent message around taking cycling back up and wanting to get healthier.

I think that is terrific!! Congratulations to the 50+ membership and recruitment director for doing such a fabulous job (that's all of us)!!

It's really nice to see a group of young un's coming along that can step in and keep this thing going. Those of us that have regularly participated can begin to ease back and concentrate on other interests-like latino dancing???

Welcome to all and ride hard but play nicely!! Change is okay but you have to keep a little tradition going here-especially the things that work well (seems some corporations might argue that point these days.........)

And for those of us that are visual learners we do enjoy pictures!!

I also think it's great but it sure reminds me of my age

My youngest turned 42 this year and I have 3 older than her - one who will soon qualify for this forum

I welcome our newest younger participant, 2 posts already,

patentcad

Yeah, and some of the folks - not yet 50 - posting to the 50+ forum are about my son's age.

WE NEED A 65+ FORUM!

Maybe I will start a 65+ thread!! If anyone posts, it could be a sticky.

As a fairly new arrival who frequents 50+ but hasn't quite hit the 50 mark yet; 50+, Clyde and C&V areas are where I feel the most comfortable. You all are awesome! As much as the younger generations tend to look at their elders as being closed minded, if you look around the forums, it seems those dominated by the "youngsters" are the ones who tend toward being judgemental and elitist. Around here, I find good advice, open minds and people who aren't afraid to admit there may be other valid opinions. Also people who have lived long enough to know what really matters in life (and, as cool as it may be, it ain't the latest and greatest bike). Thanks all and I hope the next generation here carries the torch as well as the current one does.

I keep hearing more and more that the youngsters are dusting off the old bikes...whether it be caused by the price of oil or the want to go green or just plain wanting to keep their health. I am for anything that keeps my health premiums to a minumum..............

Actually, I'm a believer in the whole "Younger Next Year" movement. I'm planning of graduating *out* of this group when I turn 49 again two years from now. (I know you're thinking 'good riddance,' just don't say it.)

Most of the people on BF, if not 50 already, will turn 50 sooner or later. It's kind of freaky when you think about it.

I thought "yep, that's me" when I stared this thread.
But my wife, rather cruelly I think, pointed out just yesterday that I will be fifty -cough-cough-five this year.

Have to remember that I turned 50 a decade or so ago. Feels like a century- but All these young fit fellows joining has made me realise that I use dto show the enthusiasm that they have. Still have it but no-one listens any longer.

So suggested rules-

No spitting or gouging

Pics are a must

Pics of PIE are better

There are bonus points for posting a pic of your entry into Club Tombay- and extra if PIE is involved.

Dues to be paid to dnvrfx after 1 calendar month. Open cheques or full bank details and he will do the rest.

Maximum points if you have your picture taken by a beautiful blue-eyed blonde while you are falling over into her dog's rhubarb pie.

You can start a 65+ forum if you want, but be advised when I turn 50 next year I'll be installing a buffet here.
