It's like an alternate universe

Always weird to see someone else riding on your turf, isn't it?

From Mojo Slim's AIDS ride.

From a ride I did a week earlier:

Probably means nothing to anyone but me but it caught my eye when I saw his photo.
Heyyyy... I know that place!

But it looks a little bit lonelier when I was out there.

Yeah, I knew no one would care...
Maybe it's not common to see someone else's shot(s) of roads you travel regularly.
I still think it's kind of cool

There are no coincidences! What could this mean? just joking.

I get the exact same feeling when that happens, I get all exited but people never seem to care. but WOW, it feels good.

I can relate.

It's kinda cool. I get that feeling all the time when Cranky posts pics.

As for no replies during 2 hours on a Friday night, well after bedtime (at least here on the right coast), I think you're just a little too over anxious.

It's not that we don't care, we just don't care in the middle of the night.

So Mojo decided to come to your neck of the woods and he didn't contact you beforehand. He must be mad- You have a friend and it would be the ideal time to arrange a meeting- Pie Stop or even a Bacon sandwich and he didn't tell you.

Perhaps he was afraid you would meet him with the OCR C and smoke him on the hills.

I just looked at the time stamp... you're right!
I thought I had posted this much earlier than that.
Oops... Mea culpa

But I really did think -afterwards- that it's a pretty esoteric (or is it solipsistic?) point of reference.
Sure, it would cool to me; I live here but to anyone outside of the area? Eh.

It does seem, though, that it's not that uncommon a feeling for others to share and that is cool!

Stapfam - This wasn't a "joyride" for Mojo Slim, he was "on the job" as it were.
Not sure if I'd smoke him, though... he rides a Giant, too

It's all been said. I was "on the job" at the time. I ride a Giant, too. AND I have suggested that SKT and I ride together when I am in Marin County after the birth of my grandson. I am a very gracious kind of guy.

I do agree about the "excitement" of seeing others' pictures of our own areas. I really enjoy hosting friends on "my roads", showing them the sights and stopping at a favorite watering hole.

There is no such thing as a "coincidence". We need an existential detective on this! (reference to one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but it had one or two redeeming qualities).
