Birthday Ride (belated)
Although my birthday was last Thursday, work and weather conspired to prevent me from the obligatory Ride Your Age birthday ride until today. Since my birthday and my sober date are the same, I rode a mile for each, and 10% for good measure. Came in at just over a metric.
Did some climbing
And some more climbing (3,803 feet of it)
Saw lots of horsies
Got faked-out by this safety decoy guy. (There were surveyors all over the place. From a distance, I thought this guy was standing in the ditch holding holding that stick thing they use.)
Was not faked-out by the plastic palm trees and giant inflatable turtle in this farm pond.
Tied the Portland to the hitchin' rack at Sweet Solutions in Ionia, NY where…
I had a delicious lunch--salami and provolone wrap with mac salad and wedge of watermelon (Ooops. Ate the melon before I remembered to take a picture.)
And topped it off with a root beer float. Mmmmm. Bike fuel!
Great pictures! Gorgeous countryside! It looks like it was a happy belated ride. Happy Birthday!
Speaking of belated rides, this past week-end I rode a 27 mile birthday ride, only 31 years belated.
Top that one - I dare ya.
Congrats on the ride.
Happy (belated) birthday, and congrats on the good ride. That's some nice looking country where you're riding.
How about my 10 mile birthday ride Saturday....it was only 55 years belated:cry:

Happy birthday; thanks for the ride pics. Loved the giant turtle.
Gotta respect an age / metric ride that includes a root beer float.
Now that is style!
Happy birthday, both you youngsters. Thanks, tsl for the cool pictures. Reminds me of the south.
Happy Birthday, great countryside!
Whew! I was afraid I'd be voted off the island for passing up the pie. ;)

Congrats, happy birthday, and great pics!
