Nice ride this morning - No sweat till later

On 25 - 7, George wrote about cycling in heat, and not sweating,

I had a nice ride this morning, about 50km in about a couple of hours. Really loving my new (1 year old!) bike, and the weather was warm (well, it's Bahrain) but not too windy. I was out from about 6.30 am, back at about 8.30. Saw gazelles, camels, and was pushing along and feeling fine.

But not a drop of sweat apparent. Dry shirt. Glugging down the water, buying new bottles of cold every 10 km or so, but nothing like a drop off the brow or the forearms

But coming inside after the couple of hours - I was just a fountain. Yo, sweaty was me. Drip drop splash.

Just goes to show - above a certain temperature, it looks like you're not sweating, but it's just because it evaporates as soon as appearing.

What was the temp outside at that time?

It is difficult for me to imagine cycling in Bahrain. How about posting some pics of your ride and kit. I'm sure you are wearing wool, right.

Thanks for your interest, Mr FT

I just tried to post a couple of pics, but was confronted my my computer ineptitude

I'll try again tomorrow - it's my bedtime now. However the pictures I was trying to retrieve are maybe already here, in my introduction and on a thread called 'ride my age'

Thanks for your interest.

About 38C at 6.30 this morning, about 43 by mid morning, 85% humidity. Feels like someone has just splashed a saucepan of water onto the sauna coals without asking!
