No, it wasn't miles or temperatures. It was the number of riders we had for the Saturday morning "Bike for the Health of It" program this morning Normal attendance for the ride is around 70 but we're hoping to hit the 100 mark this year. Today was so close
It was a short 15 mile ride on a new trail that has already been effected by construction on the south end by I-75 and on the north end by I-70 construction When the highway construction is finished the trail will connect the city of Vandalia with downtown Dayton.
The weather was almost perfect - sunny with a light wind. Here's a picture of the parking lot before the ride.
This was taken at the beginning of the ride. I rode sweep today so this is just the tail end of riders.
This picture was taken near the construction site downtown Dayton. The trail meanders along the river, through some light industrial area and then heads toward the city of Vandalia through a couple parks. It has a lot of shade, curves and slight inclines. Once the construction is done it's going to be a great trail to ride on those hot summer days.
As usual a bike ride isn't complete without food. We may not ride too far on these rides but they always end with a visit to a local restaurant for coffee and some other goodies

Nice! I enjoy these reports with photos of other regions of the country. Sounds like a nice fun ride all around.

It appears that you guys put in a lot of work on organizing this ride. Congrats on the great turnout and kudos to you for performing sweep duty.
That's a nice looking trail system.

Love them bike paths for part of any ride. If one is on a long ride, paths give a chance to cool down. I am hoping and think we will see more and more trails and paths in the future.

You are getting there with the numbers- so it looks as though someones hard work is paying off. And I always ride sweep- even with a group of two- The best place to be.
