30 miles

went for my usual 15.1 mile ride today with plans to do a little extra may 20 miles. When I got back home I still felt good so I did a u-turn and did it again. This is the most I have done since I started back riding .My previous best was 20mi last mon.My legs are a little tired but I feel good my butt is not as sore as it was when I did 20mi it must be getting used to the seat.LIFE IS GOOD

Doesn't it feel good to be able to go a little farther. Congratulations and keep up the good work. Maybe some pictures of your ride for us to look at.

If you can do 30, you can do 50, you can do 75 you can do 100 . . . .

Pretty impressive - it's pretty hard to leave again when you've returned home....I don't think I could do it. (I have gotten *close* to my house and gone out for more miles...but I don't think I could leave again after pulling up into my drive...).

Congrats on your 30 miles.

For me, I always come in dead tired whether its 10 miles or 30 miles because I always push myself. After I rest a little sometimes I'll ride down to the store or just ride around town in the cool evening air. Sometimes its like I cant get enough, no matter how tired I was before, or how many miles I rode.

strange

Sounds like you'll be expanding your normal ride again. Good for you.

I know the feeling. Until recently my best was about 24 miles. The other day my wife and I did 36miles and then 34 miles yesterday and it was such a feeling of accomplishment. And I don't even have a high end road bike just an old Giant Hybrid Nutra. Today I put new narrower "road type" tires on our bikes. I hope to crash the 36 mile barrier and beyond some day with the lower rolling resistance of the non-hybrid tires. My only problem is at 56 years young my knees seems to bother me lately. I can only hope I can continue riding the long distances.

Two things to check, the seat height and the seat position fore and aft. If you decided to move the seat do it in small increments. If you move the seat up (which you probably need to do) move it no more than 5mm at a time. If you move it forw or aft, just move it 1mm or 2mm at a time. These may seem like small amounts, but they can make a big difference.

OP - Isn't it a great feeling when you are having such a good time that you want to ride more, and you can.

I am excited about my improvement I didn't think I would get 30 mi this quick.I had plans to ride mt mitchell twice when I was riding 25 years ago and both times they fell through so I never did it.My goal is to ride mt mitchell next summer.I guess I will do that on my old road bike not the fixed gear or maybe I will buy a new road bike just have to convince the wife.
