Annual PIE Ride.
Only a week to train for it so get the maps out and find that pie on your ride for next saturday.
3rd Saturday in September is the date and rules are simple. Do a ride- Eat PIE and post a pic. For newcomers to cycling- distance is not a problem but those of us that have the legs for it- 15 miles is the recommended distance.
Main thing is to get out- and eat the traditional 50+ form of nourishment- and for those of us that get greedy- do 30 miles to work off the extra calores.
Attachment is of my 2006 Pie- Autumn Fruits with Custard.

Oh dangit - I only have a week and so mush to do to be in proper form for the pie ride. I better start making a list:
1) Buy a pair of Sidis
2) Have those custom wheels built
3) Buy/Break in a Brooks saddle
4) Get the fitting and custom built steel frame
5) Get those Bibs.
6) Can't forget the wool socks
7) Buy that Incredibell
8) Clean my chain - one link at a time
9) Make sure I am well stock in a full range of Hammer nutrition - don't want to bonk/could be a hard 15 miles.
10) Fit up the HRM, Speedometer, Cadence, Powermeter and GPS.
11) Make sure the Paniers are well fastened and load them up with every Park tool in the catalog - you never know what will happen - 15 miles is a long way. Make sure not to forget the torque wrench again...
12) Read every book Joe Friel ever wrote and start that training routine.
13) Refit those clipless pedals and make sure to fall a few times just to make sure I know how.
14) Map the ride on at mapmyride, bikely, and bokeroutetoaster - make sure they all agree and plot the elevation profile making sure to note any grade over 1%.
15) Dust off the camera, clean out the memory so I can take a pictures every 1/4 mile.
16) Oh yea - get that Colonoscopy

Doe a little Debbie apple pie at the convenience store count? I really don't like to stop at restaurants on my rides but I don't mind a convenience store and the Little Debbies really are good. I promise I will eat plenty of key lime pie the next time Mrs. Romad makes one.
