Can we send out invitations to join 50+

Just wonderin' if we should be proactive about inviting certain people to join us. I'll leave it up to the women to form their own list, but I was thinking along the lines of:

Kim Basinger - 53 yo
Kim Cattrall - 52
Angela Bassett - 50
Michelle Pfeiffer - 50
Annette Bening - 50
Madonna - 50
Sharon Stone - 50

(of course women can add women and men can add men!)

Nothing against Madeleine Albright or 71 yr olds, but no, not yet. Touch base with me again on this issue in 20 years.

Sniff, sniff...sniff, sniff, sniff...

I smell sexism and ageism. Boo.

Mel Gibson, Hugh Grant (give him a couple of years; he's still Solveg's age), George Clooney.

Michael Jackson may qualify, but I won't be inviting him.

I like how right after Red Rider gave her "boo" that she joined right in and added more members.

You'll think I'm lying, but Kim Basinger once sat on my bike, Ribby, and I pushed her around in a parking lot in Braselton, GA. It was BRAG '92 and we rode through Braselton on the way out from our overnight stop at Lake Lanier Islands. Kim owned most of Braselton at that time, and she and some guy in a Batman costume were standing in a parking lot, greeting the riders as they came through town. My riding buddies and I stopped to chat with her for a while and she asked "where's my bike? I want to ride a bike".
Ever the gentleman, I pushed my bike towards her and said "Here you go." She tried to straddle the bike, but her long, slinky dress wouldn't let her do that, so I offered to let her sit side saddle on the top tube while I pushed her around. Much to my surprise, she hopped up on my bike and I pushed her around for about 20 feet.

Naturally, none of us had a camera , so nobody believes this really happened. But I swear it did.

So mention that I'm here when you send her invitation and I'm sure she'll accept.

I thought this was going to be about just getting existing members to start posting here, which I kind of think is a fine idea. I'm only 45, but I'm already working on my aches and pains and curmugeonliness.

Fish oil and borage oil in large doses and forget about the aches and pains. Dr. put me on them and they worked miracles. For the curmugeonliness, go see a doctor for mind altering drugs.

I'll send a note 'round to Helen Mirren and offer to brush up her cycling skills as my contribution to the cause of bolstering the 50+ ranks. By the way, it's not too soon to be cultivating Laura Linney's attention. I could probably find a little time for that project, too. No trouble at all; glad to do it.

"Above and beyond the call of duty", that's the 50+ spirit. That's why we stand out in the BF community.

Then let's not forget advanced recruiting of Uma Thurman. She'll be eligible in about 10 years ...
