....before the end of Indian Summer. Finished work at 05:30 this morning
and after a quick nap we decided to take the Tandem to breakfast. It was
a balmy 55 degrees and there wasn't a cloud in the sky with no wind! The

We rode up Lake Ave. as far as Boxart St. and headed towards the Genesee
River to get onto the Genesee River Trail. In some places the leaves were so
thick on the ground that the blacktop trail was difficult to see. Here's
a picture of my better half along that trail just above the old Oak Forest
area where the waterfall is.
We continued down to the Turning Basin and out across the boardwalk area passing
just a few fishermen and walkers. Once we reached the lower end of the trail
we headed back up to Lake Ave and breakfast at Uncle Tony's Diner.
After breakfast it was back over to the river, this time up along the top of
the gorge. Here's my dear bride at the Bill Davies Overlook where the old
Stutson St. bridge used to be. Note the massive fog bank in the background.
It's much cooler and very damp out over the Lake today.
And here's one more closeup of the bike among the Mums. All the gardens
along the Charlotte portion of the River Trail are planted and maintained
by volunteers from the neighborhood and they do a beautiful job even
though it's hampered by a good amount of vandelism.
So the bike is put away now in the garage and we both agree that we can't
wait 'till Spring.
