It's time to sign up for a parade!

If you are looking for something fun to do this holiday season, consider riding your bike in a parade. I'm going to be doing two this December. Sign ups are usually in November.

Find your local parade's website and there should be information on how to sign up. We usually end up being classified as a motor group. You don't have to know exactly how many people will ride. If you need a group to ride as, I'm sure you can find some aegis to fly under. I do it with the local bike advocacy group. We like it partly because we don't do any long rides so as to not compete with the local bike clubs, and they join us in the parade. It's fun.

Parades are fun! Just make sure you're located before any horses

Our MetroPark volunteer group often participates in local parades.

Speaking of holiday season, I've spotted my first house with Christmas lights on it last night. Halloween is hardly gone cold, and Thanksgiving still awaits, but no...they've GOT to get those lights up and working.

Bah! Humbug!

This year I saw a house with Halloween lights on. Orange and green bulbs, the erzatz pumpkins outside gave away that they weren't Xmas lights.

I've made a virtue out of laziness. I leave my lights up all year round and turn them on when we have guests for dinner or other special occasions.
