Few local Bits of scenery. The hill in the first one is not too bad----Except it is just after breakfast.

This is a picture outside the notorious Waverly sanitarium. You can see the structure in the background. I wanted to say hello to a ghost or two but they had the place sealed up like a drum. I mountain bike at Waverly sometimes. The number of ghosts I sensed out there was way down. I'm not sure why.

"Beside still waters..."

I like the way the clouds reflect in the very calm lake water. I took this with a cell phone and it still turned out OK.

BTW, this is "Sporty" the repainted and restored '72 Schwinn Super Sport I worked on for over a year. It has none of the original components except the stem and the seatpost collar. I was as generous I could be with vintage Campagnolo gear.

Here are a couple of pics from my 40 mile Brazos River loop on a recent Friday afternoon. The old mill was built in the 19th century, quite old for this area. The dam is still there (look through the bridge) and provides a rare waterfall in this part of the country.

Last time I took photos on a bike was a month ago (all my rides lately have been in the rain...).

Salmon swimming upstream - on their way to reproduce, or die, depending on how you look at it...

LOL. It just feels right that way I guess. Not 10", more like 10-11cm.

This was one of the 5,000 or so cyclists in the recent Hilly Hundred in Southern Indiana.

The San Gabriel Mountains above Thompson Creek trail in Claremont, CA. This is at one end of the trail before heading up to Mount Baldy (not shown in the photo).

Great thread, mojo!

Lotsa great pics and places.

This is from my "pre-leaf" ride on the Black Oak loop. I decided to do a recon a couple of weeks before the actual, annual leaf ride. I had no idea what these were, other than really nice looking, when I shot them. I am told they are Morning Glories.

Ol' Fuj taking a break, during the actuall 2008 leaf ride, at a hay meadow with a mountain of colorful leaves in the background.
