Traffic School... ugh

Got a traffic ticket a while back for turning left through some yellow lines or something. Today I'm doing my online traffic school. It beats going to one in person, that's for sure. I've passed all the practice tests, and now it's on to my actual test. If I fail, I have to show up somewhere in person and try again.

I'd rather be biking!!!

Maybe after you finish your virtual driving, you can go on a virtual bike ride.

If someone who drives like you do were really a bad driver you'd be dead by now.

You should do it in person and then give the instructor hell about cyclists

At least you can use traffic school. I have a CDL, and we're not allowed traffic school any longer, no matter what we were driving at the time of the offense.

there you go DG, if you had a CDL, you would not have to go to school..............it would be worse. Then you'd be driving trucks, and have the oportunity to get tickets for overweight and other infractions.........

Well done!

There is something to be said for live traffic school though. It's amusing in a bizarre way. Your classmates are the main attraction.

The last time I had to take it, it was in Mission Valley. The course was taught by a Highway Patrolman who hadn't had any sleep the night before and spent a lot of time in class detailing exactly what he as a cop looked for when deciding who to ticket, and what and what not to say to the cops.

I took it to heart, and so far, so good. It's been about 15 years now, ticket free.

I shouldn't say this but, in 38 years of driving I have never been stopped let alone ticketed.

Nope, but get this...there was a question about which professional race first used seat belts...(turns out it was Indy 500 -- but why should a question like this be on a test like this?)

My daughter was in shock when she first started driving in L.A. as it's
a lot different than back here. She say's some of the laws are kinda
quirky and the driving is, well, harder. Virtual traffic school.....guess
that sorta 'splains it.

Got a traffic ticket a while back for turning left through some yellow lines or something

If the traffic school was worthwile, do you now know what you did that resulted in the ticket, and do you know how to avoid doing that in the future........

If not, then what's the point of "traffic school"?

In 57 years of driving (I started when I was 12), 2 very minor traffic tickets, one other stop, none for the past 25 years.

I was stopped in Jakarta 26 years ago. No infringement, no other traffic, just an anglo driving along alone in the late evening. Purely ritual. "I'm going to fine you"

I took great pleasure in saying "Surely Officer we can sort this out without involving a lot of paperwork?"

It was worth the resulting exchange of $10 just to say that once in my life
