My new used bike

HI,
Someone bought a cannondale and let it sit for about 5 years in the garage, brought it to a local bike shop and traded up, I found it today for 400.00 I thought it was a steal , it has a few upgrades and new rims and tire. and a Crane Creek stem holder and a Rithchy
I believe they are mavric, and the tires are some type of Michelon Axial Pro.
I can't believe it fits me its a 60 cm. The bike store said it probably didn't have 50 miles on it, I put a good 20 already... hehe its brand new clean not scratched or any dings..The previous owner was only 5 ft 11in and he could'nt ride it comfortably. the bike god smiled on me today..
Its hard to believe its a 2002 Cannondale R1000 AERO. It looks new to me..

WHoo..

Can't see the pic. Congrats on finding a deal though. How's the riding in VA Beach. I spent several years there (It was the 60's if I remember correctly) between Atlantic and Baltic on 24th st. But I was without bike then, being much more interested in higher horsepower events.

Pic fixed now. cool bike.

Now you're going to have to buy a tear drop shaped helmet or your head won't be able to keep up with those air foil frame tubes.

Good looking bike.

Got a bright yellow helmet and jersey?

For the year you have a nearly new bike. Only thing I would check out is the saddle. If its a Coda saddle- you will be changing it fairly quick.

So get some miles in and the CXP rims are Mavic. Never seen them in Blue though.

Amen, my R500T had a Coda 700, it was so strangely shaped and rode terribly. I put on a Brooks B-17 and live happily ever after.

Excellent color choices--especially the wheels.

Same as on my first new used bike:

And trust me on this, yellow is the fastest color.

Thanks For looking

HI,
You are so right about the saddle it feel like a 2 by 4 after about 10 miles.me ars is numb.
The Rear tire had a pinch flat after a we bit of a bump, so I changed it to a ,bontrager race lite that has a stronger sidewall tire. My LBS swears by them you should have heard it lock on to the rim as he started to inflate it, the sidewall is pretty hard.
Bikes Pretty smooth once the seat has been replaced..I had a Honey B17 collecting dust, not any more changed it out today with the butt buster..
Tomorrow will be a new day new tires and many miles to go..

PSPS I have a problem I wake up 15 mins before the alarm clock at 6am after 6hr sleep to sneak down and gear up after coffee and a power bar, make up a liter of grape gator aide check all the lights and whoosh on the road again.
My wife says I live to ride that damn bike!, and I say whats your point?..hehe
Doug

Nice catch. I bought a 2005 Trek early this year used that had 2.5 miles on it.... A lot of bikes sit idle, and used they can save you a lot of $$.

Used bikes are the best kind -- I have owned only two new ones in my entire 46-year cycling career.

Very nice bike. I hope the LBS told you about Cannondale's warning in the fine print. If not here it is.

" Cannondale has committed to making the R1000 Aero the fastest bike possible. Cannondale seeks to maintain it's reputation and only authorizes the user to ride the R1000 Areo 'FAST!' Users not riding the R1000 Aero 'Fast' are subject to penalty. Penalties will be imposed by authorized Cannondale Reps., LBS owners and qualified road riders. Riders found not riding the R1000 Aero 'Fast' will be forced to post the bike for sale on Ebay, Craig's List or in a local club's newsletter, or keep the bike in their garage or in storage until the owner agrees to ride the R100 Aero 'Fast'."

Make sure you read the fine print and follow it to a T.

You'll learn- Get the wife to get up earlier and make the coffee. Then you have have a few more minutes rest before riding.
