When I was about 20, I was flown on a DC3 as a member of a crew of firefighters to a fire near the Trinity Alps. We fought the darn fire, and during this time I was exposed to poison oak.

I ended up in the hospital in Weaverville as I recall. I do believe that we were somewhere near Hayfork, or at least went through Hayfork.

Heck, that was 49 years ago - hard to recall exact details.

Do you do much riding in that area?

Denny's In Modesto, California

Denny's here in our home town of Modesto, California, was serving free breakfast yesterday. My son saw the line, even after 12:00, the line was still long (outside, down the street!). I didn't even know about the free breakfast, or I might have stopped by Denny's.

I wonder how much it cost Denny's for that marketing stunt. It will work or it won't. Denny's is probably the oldest sit down chain restaurant in the country. When you consider how restaurants come and go in the marketplace, its an icon already. Hopefully their balance sheet is not riddled with debt.

I didn't watch the game, so I missed the commercial and just found out about the free breakfast this morning. Probably just as well; considering the lines, it's not worth my time to get the 'free' breakfast.

No, we haven't yet. Lots of hills and few roads, mostly with high speed limits. But it's worth a look.
