Well, I've been reading posts on the 50+ forum since last summer, and as of yesterday, I can officially apply for membership. So, how much are the dues and where do I sent the check?

You will get the bill eventually- Takes a little while to arrive as most of the memebrs are out riding and can't be bothered with forms.
Only a few things to remember- But I forget what they are.

Two things immediately come to mind:
First - you and Abraham Lincoln;
Second - have you ridden your age yet? No pie until you ride your age.

Goodness! I walk away for just a day or so and realize how many of you have snuck up on me. I must say I like the pie idea. Is there a preference in this group of Mrs. Smith's vs homemade crusts?
I haven't ridden my age yet this year ('09) as there's still snow on the ground. But I'm really looking forward to doing it before summer.
I told my wife that I wanted a motorcycle for my 50th. It really got her worried when after she asked me if I could ride one I said I did once in high school and crashed it. When I backed down and said that I'd settle for a really nice bicycle for the first time in my life, she thought that was a pretty good compromise. So my nephew, who works in a shop got me an '08 Cannondale System 6 with mostly Ultegra stuff on it. It's impossible for me to describe how wonderful of a bike it is. Even though I 've been riding since college I'll never be as good a rider as this bike deserves. I'd post pictures, but it's going to take some effort on my part to figure out how.
Lastly, I'm susupecting that all of you who are concerned about my dues payments are actually pulling my leg...hmmm.....
