Y'Ouch!!!!!!

I'd forgotten about the Posterior pain you can get when you haven't ridden for a while. Espcecially if your fist ride in four+ months is done on a new "un-broken in" saddle.

Time to go by the LBS and pick up some extra Chamois for my bibs.....

That's even worse when it doesn't bother to show up until you are 15-20 miles from home.

This too shall pass. I hope.

When I started to ride again, about 15 years ago, I found my 1970's B17-N did not fit anymore. I had no pride and would take a wash cloth and neatly fold it making a nice little pad to rest between me and the saddle. I got pretty good at keeping it in place. The improvised pad even stayed on the seat when I got out of the saddle on hills or stops. Now days the acutely developed pride and stubbornness would have me riding on a oak 2" x 4" and believing it will break in any day soon.

In time you'll have toughened those muscles back up again, then the all that pain will truely be behind you. :innocent:

I look up in admiration from my recumbent at riders who stay in the saddle mile after mile.

I'll second that, the stock seat on my new Jamis MTB killed me after 10 miles:twitchy: Seat's seem to be weird things, this seat was I'm sure more expensive than the the Bell Gel MTB seat I picked up to replace the "UnGodly torture device" of a seat that comes with a Roadmaster MTB-clone. Can't beleive how much more comfortable a $15.00 (retail) seat is:love: I may need to upgrade again as my mileage per ride goes up but for now the Bell Gel is making the ride enjoyable.:D

I just deal with it until things settle down and the pain ceases. It never takes more than a few weeks of regular riding to get back to pain-free riding. A little discomfort isn't the worst thing in the world.

Don't have a "New" unbroken saddle. Mine are both 3 years old and perfect. One came off the Mountain bike when I stopped riding it as fequently as I used to and the other was bought to replace the Stock saddle on the OCR.

But I still feel that saddle set up is the way to eliminating pain----Once you have got the right saddle in the first place.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

It is amazing what a good hot Jacuzzi bath will do for sore sit bones. :thumb:

No break in.
