It worked!!!!
I did about 300 miles on my Schwinn Airdyne over a five week period ending three weeks ago (I got Lazy, Bored, dis-illusioned....pick one you like). The reconditioning that those 300 miles provided me was greatly appreciated this afternoon on my first commute of the season.
Now it was a short ride of only 3.4 miles on a heavy old Trek mountain bike on studded winter tires, but every so often I'ld glance at the old Avocet Computer and notice I was effortlessly tooling along in access of 16mph., and like I said I didn't feel like I was pushing very hard at all.
Hooray for the Airdyne. Though it is boring and tedious to use it, it works. Boy-o-boy does it work!

Just wait till you go home and find the tailwind has not changed direction.
Have to admit though that any form of winter training will pay off. So perhaps it is time to get another few miles in on it. Winter hasn't finished yet

Winter is done when I say it's done. Pay no attention to that wind and ice and snow. It's but a mere nuisance. Winter's done I say, it's over, kaput, outa here. It's Spring. Ride baby ride!
