    N + .5 I guess it would be? (pics)

Someone please help me... I don't need this but I can't help myself... maybe an intervention is needed. Tonight's eBay purchase is pictured, and the immediate plan is to move the components from my Sequoia to the new frame. I will update pics when UPS truck arrives and as the build progresses.

Need has nothing to do with it. Want is OK. This is going to be a keeper when done.

why does the frame say 'yellow jersey' when it's red?

are you sure you want a CF/AL frame?

    do you like Greg?

    • I don't know but I like the red just fine
    • Frame is not AL/CF, which I would not care for, but steel and CF
    • Doesn't matter... if Hitler made a great bike... well, okay maybe not...

Looks like an interesting project. I've got a road bike with a carbon & 853 Reynolds steel combination. It's a very forgiving combination. Hope you relish the end product.

I've spoken to a few people who have ridden the LeMond steel/carbon combo frames and they really liked them.

I will help you. I've placed a snipe bid of $6,000 on the frame. Thanks for the alert.

0.5 would be a unicycle. If you can mount two wheels on a frame, then it is 1.

I think 0.5 might apply for as long as it doesn't have wheels.

Yes... I am relishing the idea of this new bike. RBR comments on the MJ in CF/steel are pretty strong. As I mentioned in another post, I rode my steel Schwinn last weekend and was shocked at how nice it rode despite the weight. It got me to thinking... hmmm... "steel is good and CF I like a lot... maybe they work well together?" I've been shopping for a backup frame for my Lemond BA anyway and this frame popped up for sale... but just thought something different might be interesting.

If anyone spies a good deal lurking on an affordable mid-range groupset, feel free to chime in and offer advice.

I submit the idea that 0.5 is not a scalar but a vector function.............it's either on it's way up to 1 or down to 0. Either that or it is indeed a unicycle.

Oh, sweet mystery of life! The package arrived today- total of 14.3 pounds with box and packing. There were assistants on hand to help with the unpacking too!

It's still beautiful. It also looks like one of the best packing jobs I've seen in quite a while. Have fun with the build.

Just a couple more pics including frame on the scales at the LBS. Have decided to use mostly SRAM Rival but have had to scrounge around for polished, as opposed to black, parts.

SRAM Rival changed over from polished to black for the 2009 series. You may have good luck searching Ebay for 2008 Rival.

Have scored pretty much everything but polished cranks on a piece-by-piece basis on evil bay. Thanks. I have never used SRAM before, so it should be interesting.

(Even Ultegra stuff seems fairly scarce right now except in the Ice Grey color.)

I need 170 and 50/34... guess I can live with the 09 cranks if I have to.

Wow - that's an intriguing frame! The seat stays, fork and the seat tube are steel/carbon composites?!? Guess I'm stuck in the dark ages. Wow.
    Good luck with the build!

I propose its ZERO since it cannot be ridden. A unicycle can be ridden. This cannot. so its zero. You can have a hundred frames but if you only have one whole one, then you only have one bicycle and 100 bicycle frames.. Up to that point you have frame wich is 0.

    Explain that to the wife.
