Another Rode My Age Ride
We have had some really warm, sunny weather recently and I decided to do my annual age ride even though I was a couple of weeks early. I rode more or less south until the computer showed 33 miles in a community called Merry Oaks and then turned around. The ride took me across Jordan Lake which is a popular area for Triangle area riders. I must have encountered at least 100 other bikers, mostly younger and more serious than me. The trip meter showed almost 67 miles when I got back with no problems other than a huge appetite the rest of the day. I haven't been doing many rides over 30 miles or so, but I do ride several times each week and our winters allow almost year-round riding. I can't believe how much I still enjoy just being on two wheels.

Nice job. The huge appetite thing is indeed a problem.... at least for me after a long ride. I was riding with my oldest son several weeks back when he looked over and said to me, "You know people who don't ride simply don't have a clue about what they're missing." Riding two wheels is almost enough fun to be illegal.

ET for BD ride
I was back home in about 5 1/2 hours but that included two stops to use the facilities. The first stop was 25 miles out at a boat ramp on Jordan Lake, so I had to cruise around a bit to see what was going on there. Still, I have never been fast and don't seem to be getting any faster. It turned out to be a nice route, so I plan to try it again real soon.

How did you feel the day after?
I'm asking because I didn't go on a long ride, only 33 miles, but I got one of those "Don't you know you had to be here in 1/2 hours?" types of calls and hammered (age and ability adjusted) it home.
I've been totally exhausted today, although yesterday I felt fine.
