How do your brakes line up with the rim?

A side wall blow out that serious from road debris is uncommon. On the other hand, I've seen several side wall blowouts that were caused by the brake rubbing the tire. If the tear in the tire is way up by the tire bead, that's probably the cause.

The brakes are lined up fine. I am pretty sure it was debris related. The tear was closer to the tread than the bead. But thanks for the advice I will keep that in mind when checking the bike out.

And I have to come clean...Huge might havee been the wrong term to use....It was close the 1 inch though.

How do you mount a pump on a bike? The cables are all over the frame. Click here to see it.
TIA
