OK, took my wife and we rode about 12 miles very slow but I got her out on a bike so great.
Next Tuesday I'll get back in the park and ride baby ride, she can ride by herself there.

Fine day, 86f lots of sun and no wind.

Sitting here in my little riding shorts, wife looks better in hers, Gatorade bottles are loaded, blood pressure is checked and we are walking out the door when the bottom feel out, it is raining cats & dogs and looks like it will the rest of the day.

I Tried. I may setup my Volare Trainer again this years, it just keeps raining this time of year.

After 61 years of playing with, and working with AC electricity I finely got mine. On top of a 12’ “Aluminum” ladder in the rain I stuck the end of an un-insinuated wire into a hot 220vAC wire and got the crap stocked out of me and had to throw myself into space to get away from it.
I hit three flowerpots, and a tree on the way down then landed on a cement border around the tree.

I’m OK, sore cut up a little but alive. The juice went in my left hand and out my left knee so it didn’t cross my heart or other organs (or pianos) on the way out. Left hand hurts and left knee is swollen and very sore.
I could feel each cycle of the AC as it went threw me and I could not open my hand. A smaller or person who was not in as good a shape as I am would have fried their heart. 5 minutes after the stock/fall my BP was 132/62 with a pulse of 65, that’s high for me but I’ll take it.
I have had many friends do the same thing and die. Over 33 years as a telephone man I lost a lot of friends to doing the wrong thing at the wrong time and today it was me BUT, I’m OK.

So Mote It Be

Update 6/18/09

Nothing broken but very swollen sure hurts. Week or two in the great chair with the PDA, iPod and Laptop in I have room in my lap.

EKG was OK, have the blood test results tomorrow and chest X-ray ok. Just got to take it easy, can’t walk.

I will lift what I can with the upper body. Just have to take it easy for a week or so.

Back on the bike last Sat for a short ride. Left leg got tired fast. I'll start my normal 20 miles tomorrow and see if I can do it all.
I'm not going to hurt myself but I need to start pushing, I lifted three days last week.
Got leg work on my workout today so we'll see how that goes.

Did 15 miles today slowly in a low gear. Knee is a little sore but I'll do it again Saturday and try for 20 miles at 15mph and see how that goes.
Also doing light leg work on my lifting days

I think thing are coming back OK.

This whole "recovery" things gets harder and harder with age. Gald you're on the way back.

Back in the saddle again,
My butt is sore but I’m happy. I only did 12.6 miles today with a little head wind on ¼ of the lap.
Pulse ran high for my normal 130-150 bpm and a 157 before I dropped a gear and slowed down.
My recovery time is very slow with a 91bpm 25 minutes after stopping. My BP is 84/58. Why would my top be so low, it is normally about 110 to 120?
Wakeup pulse is about 35-40 and 50 after three big cups of coffee. 62 is normal resting for me.

Glad to be back after it and am feeling better ever day, left knee is OK today, no pain. Nope I have those numbers down next week as I keep pushing. I lift on M-W-F and cycle T-T-S.

I’ll be back in a few weeks.
