Got a break in the temperature this morning. It rained all day yesterday and I woke up this morning to a nice 52º, sunny skies, low humidity and very little wind. Got in a good 48 miles; 40 of them solo and 8 miles with my buddy Frank who I ran into while heading back to the van.

First interval session. Rode out 5 miles out, turned around and began sprinting, spinning, sprinting, spinning my way back. What an endorphin rush.
Rode the Colnago topping out at a slow 26mph. Conditioning is underway.

Taking it easy after a couple of longish (for me) rides this week, nearly 40 and 30 miles. And looking forward to the weekend rides. Just a couple of miles around the neighborhood, trying to lighten these RevoShifters so my thumb and wrist don't pop out of joint with every downshift. Managed to improve the left (front derailer) shifter a bit just by reducing rubber-on-rubber contact, but the inside housing of the right (rear) shifter appears to be cracked. Good enough excuse to find a better replacement.

A bit cool this morning - mid-forties- but no rain so rode to work and back today for 22 miles total. Warmer on the way home with a bit of a tailwind. Not bad.

Weather was gorgeous, finished all my College Board testing yesterday, and it's Friday . . . so rode my bike to work this morning for the first time in way too long. Then my students surprised me with a party this morning. After eating biscuits, donuts, muffins, and bagels I need to take the really long way home to burn off some calories consumed.

Rode with two of the Coast 2 Coast riders this morning. It was fast, slow and great. Since they had to get back to work, they only did 20 miles (the fast part) with me, then I did the last 17 miles solo.

I use 1000 x 625 pixels on all my P-bucket shots. That's about as big as the forum will hold, I think.

Ah, well now you do!
Got up at 0430 this morning and chased the sunrise down to the river. Weather was perfect, only very slight wind, and the climb back up the hill afterward really got the blood pumping.
Here, this is how you do it:
And a portrait of the artist as an old cyclist... or something:

Thanx for info.
Fred For Life
I had a nice five or six mile ride in my usual way; I ran an errand and got lost on the way back. Rode a little in the drizzling rain, it was actually pretty nice.

Just a few miles for errands and to get the bike semi-functional again while I decide what to do about the cracked rear shifter. For now the bike is stuck in the smallest cog unless I manually crank the twister-shifter back and hold it in place. Not bad when the bike is unloaded but a bit of a chore with full panniers.

Hey there, thanks! I just bought that bike off Craigslist. An old Litespeed Obed with disc brake tabs added and very solid components. Its a 26er with wide tires. It looks out of proportion because it has a 29er fork on it. This weekend I will install a Rockshox Reba 100mm fork sized for 26" wheels. It is very light, efficient, and comfortable. It will be my off road bikepacking rig.

Monday was one b*tch of a day at work, only 20 more work days until I retire after 40 years of teaching high school! Got home and rode bike hard about 20 miles around the neighborhood, waved at same neighbors several times on some blocks, got home with a cleared mind and much better mood. My goal as I near retirement is to ride 100+ miles per week in 2016, so far my average is closer to 150 per week. This is a late-in-life hobby for me, lost 45 lbs since I started riding, love it, can't even explain the joy that cycling gives me. Hope to do some longer touring when school starts back in the fall, and I won't have any place to be!
