my balance is messed up because of this infection, I might have to resort to walking out on the trail instead of riding

Did about 15 today, felt good just to get out for a while instead of the exercise bike, saw 2 bucks and 4 does all within 20 yards or so of me on the mup I was riding on. Don't think I should tell one of my sons who was out this weekend and didn't shoot one on opening weekend here in Wisconsin.

HawkOwl (down from Alaska), his son and I had a superb 20 mile ride today. HawkOwl is still rehabbing from very major back surgery. Not too bad for a couple of guys in their 70's!

First ride since getting the tendinitis. The wife and I did 4.5 miles around the neighborhood. No pain or soreness in the knee during or after the ride. This was her first ride in over a month and my first ride on the hybrid in several months. Felt great to get back on a bike, but odd riding in a fully upright position.

Gorgeous late fall weather continues and I got in another dreamy night ride. Temperatures in the low 40s and mostly still air, and I did 25 very easy miles on trails around the lakes and rivers of Minneapolis. Rode the Trek almost entirely in the small chain ring, with no hard work at all except of course that little steep hill that I have to get over to get back home - it's less than 100 feet gain.

It's late November and the roads are still perfectly clear. I'm sure it's going to get colder soon and the riding won't be the same once there's ice and snow on the ground, but for now, I'm really enjoying the night riding.

It has been a while since I thought a ride I had done was worth any bandwidth, yesterday was definitely worth the BW. I got a chance to ride with our daughter yesterday, she used the R500 I have in the garage, and had a super ride together. Did a moderate out and back with some hill work, she held pace really well. The R500 will become hers, ( the 56cm frame fits her perfectly, she loves the Brooks B17 saddle,) as John wants to do strictly weight work and running/sprints now, he suggested she may want the R500, he is a good brother and son. Riding again today and tomorrow, Friday, she and her BF fly back to Atlanta. Taking advantage of the chance to ride with her as much as possible.

Bill

Just getting over a cold probably from riding with a wind chill of 22 degrees last week. Got in 34 today as it was a "balmy" 45 degrees. Getting ready to leave Saturday for South Florida for the winter so looking to get my monthly mileage up again.

*sigh* FYI:

You don't get colds from being chilled, or even being wet. There was an experiment where they put one group of people in a cold room where they were chilled and another group in a warm environment(same season) and the incidence of colds were not different, or not statistically different. People stay indoors more during the cold months(the air is also drier outside and in(heating) which some theorize allow viruses to more easily transfer from person to person) and people are in closer contact and for longer during the cold months. But, being chilled or cold does not make you get a cold.

Back on topic though, it'll be good that you get your mileage back up Ruby13.

Nice 20 mile ride today with a blend of pavement and back country dirt roads..., temps around 50 degrees made for a comfortable ride.

[TD="class: alt1, bgcolor: #FFFFFF"]First of all .... Happy Thanksgiving to all you 50+ BF guys and gals.

The wife was taking a nap this afternoon, after our turkey feast, to get ready for the Black Friday, all night power shopping trip with my daughter, so I decided to take the hybrid out again. Got in a nice and slow 8.7 mile, jeans and tee-shirt neighborhood ride in 52:33. I was going to do ten miles, but the sun was going down fast and I didn't want to push it with the knee. After the ride, the knee felt great. No pain or irritation at all. While the wife's asleep, tomorrow, I'll try for twelve or more miles on the hybrid and if it goes well, Saturday I'll take the Nago to the MUP and see what I can get in. Things are looking good so far.
