Another hot and humid 35 mile MUP ride. Had two very nice looking, younger female riders pass me today, on their tri-bikes, and then got in front of me and rode for about 6 miles just fast enough to where I was in their draft. Have I ever said how nice female riders look in riding shorts?

So why isn't this posted in the C&V "Everyday Pics" thread?

Rode my borrowed bike back to the Community BS to see if my bike was ready but the wheel they ordered hadnt come in yet.

I had borrowed a Universal Fusion bike which turned out to be a kiddies bike and the gears slipped really badly so I said have you any others I can borrow?

Someone had just donated an Apollo FS26 which the mechanics were working on.

The owner had left it outside and it has rusty spoles and components but they reckoned it has hardly been used.

Its comfy enough but dont know about that thin hard saddle.

Will try it out on a ride tonight, I think they're hoping I'll buy it lol but I'm too used to mine.

An easy 15 @ 14mph today with my dear wife. Late start and a little warm. Shoulders sore from 36 holes on Sunday, followed by a 34 mile hill ride. Just another great fathers day.

Nope definitely not, terrible ride on the bike tonight on an MUP former railway line.

Bike too much hard work to get going and the saddle was all over the place and even other riders said the back wheel sounded awful tho that could have been the gears.

Also my feet were touching the ground when riding over rougher going and the Ride Leader said it was far too small, I agree with that totally.

Its certainly comfortable enough otherwise but I think it has too much componentry on it for its size with a full suspension and cabling etc making it a "behemoth" of a bike as the Leader called it.

And fast enough on roads etc.

Shame really.

But the ride itself was good, a girls only ride about 18 miles in total on a sultry balmy evening.

Today was my 48th consecutive day of riding, seems like an impossibility just a year ago. I'm not looking for some type of streak, I just feel well and I am enjoying every minute of riding right now. the heat and humidity are not bad for the Southeast, usually in the low 90's and 75%-90% humidity, that is good actually. The T'storms are cooling things off for us. Today was great, got in some hill work and managed to keep things rolling along. Tomorrow had a 50% rain chance, a strong T'storm is rolling through right now, so 49 and 50 will happen if the weather cooperates, hopefully it will.

Apollored, hope you get Sunshine back soon.

Bill

Edit: I cannot count worth a darn, it is 48 yesterday not 49, so the 50 will come but first ot will be 49, today, if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise.

Monday: Nice 18 mile high speed jaunt up and down the local urban bike paths. Temps in the low 80s with light SE breeze. Legs just kept wanting to go faster.

Tuesday: See report for Monday.

This report brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.

No ride today! Dang! I usually ride every day, except 1 per week which is a rest day. But, I just had surgery for a hyperplastic scar from bike riding, and I'm not supposed to ride until it heals enough. The incision is painful, but not being able to ride every day is way more painful!

Sandy,
Welcome to the 50+ gang, don't push the healing process, especially with scar tissue issues, internal or external, I returned from several surgeries for abdominal scar tissue too early and it has cost me dearly. External scarring can be just as bad, as you now know. Enjoy the forum and plan some rides for the return when your body is ready. We will be here for you.

22 miles / 16.x average with a friend before (he went to) work. I'm off this week, since I'm between jobs and don't start the new one until Monday. Hope to get more riding done. It was cool (started at 72F) and damp/foggy at times. We had one of those "tiny drops which totally soak" rainshowers join with us for about 15 minutes. Despite riding out of the rain, nothing at all dried past that point - Just too humid. Good ride, though.

Had pre-op visit this AM so got out on grocery grabber after getting back. Made a detour to add a few extra miles and wound up picking up nails, screws and a huge ss lag bolt all in the bike lanes. Nine pound turkey breast I got will be Sunday's dinner, veggies I got are cooking in pot right now for vegetable soup and a number of other items. Will make sure I get out tomorrow for 60 miles since surgery is Friday.

Thank you

Hope tomorrow, the mechanic said he will let me know tomorrow if the wheel has come in and he will also give it a thorough check over and service.

Hope you get your 49 and 50 days in and the weather and creek cooperate for you.

I should get out of bed early this summer and ride everyday seriously.

I checked my counting twice this evening and it is 49 rides now, as long as 48 +1 = 49 I'm safe this time. Forgot to say I saw another rattle snake crossing the road, a mature diamond back this time, farther north on the same road. Ride was good, humidity is creeping back up, the norm for us.
