No ride yesterday because of no sleep Friday night. Got in a nice 44 mile ride this morning; 27 with a riding buddy and 17 solo. Turned out to be a very nice morning to ride.

Lest I leave the impression that all my rides are unpleasant, I had a great 40 mile ride this afternoon. Mostly recovery though I did go hard on the hills around the lake, which somehow didn't feel as hilly as usual.

Did 65 miles today on different rides until I got a flat around my house. I'm a little depressed about the flat because it was a fairly new Schwalbe Marathon with "greenguard" puncture protection and a thumbtack went right through it. I thought it was such a nice tire, too, and had just ordered a 2nd one!

Went away for the weekend to a cottage with my 21 yr old son. Took both my MTB and Road. On Saturday, I did a quick 12 mile ride (average 15 mph) on country roads in the morning, then another 10 on the MTB along a dirt road through the woods. Unfortunately, it was raining on Sunday morning before I left. .. Way more relaxing in the country as compared to city rides!!

Today is normally my no ride Monday but since I didn't ride on Saturday, I figured I would do at least a 35 mile ride today. Well, I got the 35 miles, but my legs must have figured out that they were suppose to rest today and just did not want to cooperate at all. Not one of my best ride, but a good ride overall. Tomorrow will be a slow 10 mph ride with the wife.

I rode the Axel Merckx Granfondo on Sunday. If you ever have an interest in coming out to explore the Canadian west I would highly recommend this ride for the spectacular scenery (in the Okanagan Valley kind of way). This was the first Century that I've ridden as part of an organized event and was more than satisfied with my time of 6:37 considering that temperatures reached 113F. My greatest concern was nutrition and hydration - the result being much better than previous shorter rides I've done in this heat. It still took an hour of recovery time before my legs felt like they were ready to get back on the bike, which they did to ride back to the truck parked a mile or so away. All in all a great ride.

Today's ride was a slow, 22 mile, 10.5 mph avg, ride with the wife. Temp and humidity were just right and there was a nice breeze to boot.

20 miles in the wind. The clouds made the ride easier when I rode against the wind.

Eleven easy miles this evening. Looking forward to riding to work in near-record 'cold' (upper 50's) in the morning.

17.64 miles this morning before work. No sun and very little wind. I love rainy cloudy days. I should live in Oregon.

Unseasonably cool this morning on the ride to work- 54 degrees! Nice! Got warmer as I made my way into the heart of the city, though. 20 miles round trip. Warm but not hot this afternoon.

61 miles solo in 3 hours. Day 4 of Tour de Wyoming so tired legs to boot. Must have been the Stout beer I had at Wind River Brewing in Pinedale last night kicking in!
