I live in the DFW area and watched this on the news. I rode in the wind on Monday, so was taking a day off. Sad event. Did a quick fifteen on Wednesday with a lot less wind.

Winds picked up a bit after a colder than normal 48F start. Knew pretty soon after the gang started to roll out of the park that after Saturday's 103 miler today would not be a good day for me. Shoulder and wrist pain made it difficult to get comfortable, even on my aerobars, so after 20 miles I called it a day and headed home. Got in 35 miles, better than 34.

A fairly windy and slow 37 miles with my buddy Steve, who wasn't having a good day today. He was very winded the entire ride and that's not like him to have that much trouble with his breathing. Said he was going to see a doctor - we'll see.

Cold, cloudy, and nasty out today (windy) but I managed 14.8 miles @1:10 on the Roubaix.

Nice day for a rural PA ride, temps in mid-50's, reasonable breeze... And then it hit; I rounded a turn coming out of a wooded stretch only to encounter a "candy wagon" (manure spreader) delivering it's cargo on a field next the road. My road. To make matters worse, it was dry, dusty chicken poo! Foulest of the fowl! Do I wait and get immersed in the "fog", or do I stand on the pedals and push through the haze of stench? I opted for the push trying not to breath, at least, not deep... Ahh, I still can feel the grit on my face... Such is life...

Eleven miles this evening after work. Warm (60's) but windy. Tailwind helped me stay at 25mph for almost a mile on a flat stretch

Yes I did ride today! 30 miles with a stiff headwind, steady 20+ mph with gusts to mid 30's! Rough going out, nice coming home.

Ditto, those winds. Rode 12 miles with 22 mph quartering winds and gusts over 30 mph. Was curious to know how it'd feel and affect my speed. Funny thing, I was only a few minutes slower than usual, just under 12 mph average rather my usual just over 12 mph. Sure felt much slower and harder, but didn't really work out that way.

Nice 38 mile ride this morning. Half with my buddy Steve the other half solo. Started in the 40s but very quickly reached upper 60s so we were pretty much overdressed for the first lap.

Busy morning (book cover graphics) but Ma Nature did let up a little with moderate winds. Took a slower paced afternoon ride on the heavier Sirrus, 15.3 miles @1:16. I even kept up with two road bikers on Kestrels @18mph for about a mile just to show I could

Really? I thought it was fear of peanut butter sticking to the butyl tubes in the tires of your spider.

And to think, I thought it was the fear of architects using butyl tubes in their wheel/tire sets, or is it architects with a fear of using butyl peanuts in their wheel/tire sets.

Rode just 20 today, brings this week up to 80 miles, stiff SE winds the last two days, very gusty today.

Rode 30 miles Wednesday afternoon, intended to ride only 10 while looking for a safe route to the local MUP. Felt so good I just kept going until I couldn't.

A good 37 mile ride with my buddy Steve, this morning. Had some stomach issues on lap two and that wasn't much fun but still had a good ride, overall.

Did you ride today? Why yes I did, and it was fantastic!!!!

Loaded up the borrowed house painting tools onto my grocery grabber and 11.5 miles after leaving the house I was at my friend's house. Dropped them off, turned the bike around and 12.5 miles later with virtually all of it into the wind I was back home. Only 24 miles but a good workout.

Cold still (low 40s) but sunny and low wind, beautiful day for a 24.1 mile-1:59 ride on the Roubaix. More wind to come but I'm enjoying this for now. I half-envy you guys in Floriaduh (sister state of Nevaduh) for the warm weather but not the humidity.

You can pick your friends, but best not to pick your nose.

You can pick your friends, or you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your family.

Sorry those two groaners are my only poor attempts.

I did ride my commute again, generally with no phobias in effect. Cool temps, upper 40's, a bit of mist on the return. I rode though a flock of about two dozen turkeys in one residential neighborhood, but fortunately I don't suffer from Thankgivingdinneryaphobia, and they apparently didn't suffer from Arachibutyrophobia.

22.22 miles @1:45 on the Allez. Still chilly in the AM but sunny and I beat the wind. The ride ends (well, 1.5 miles home after) at SenCen (Senior Center) for lunch. Nice crab salad and a small Easter basket of empty calories.

Groaners? Please tell me we are not doing groaners. As in; "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish".

Q: Why can't a bicycle stand up on its own? A: Because it's too tired!

While most of Gotham was sleeping as too the townspeople of my locale, I took to the road at 0210 for a leisurely 40 miles. Just refueled, aired up the Giant's tires and off for another 60 to 70. Weather forecast has changed from rain to clouds and into the mid 80'sF so it should be a good ride.
