O/T Question about a power tool
 

I'm asking this here as I assume that most 50+ guys (and some girls) are somewhat like I am and have lots of tools around.

Been thinking about buying one of these.

Anyone here own this tool? Your opinion of it?

I bought one to allow me to do a tricky kitchen repair job. One of the cutting saws with the depth control disc allowed me to simplify a kitchen repair that was probably not possible otherwise. It saved me a lot in cost/time. I thought I'd rarely use it again. Turns out I've used it a lot over the last 10 or so years. If it burned up, I'd have to buy another one. The big negative is the cost of the attachments.

I've used it recently to cut away old exterior caulking. Nothing is faster for that job.

I thought I had one of everything, but I don't have one of these. I have so many other tools I probably wouldn't need one but they do look like they would be useful.

Of course you need it.What man has too many tools,it might even come in handy next time you're fixing the neighbours bicycle,better to try it out on his rather than your own. :D

I work for a tool manufacturing company, and we have a forum for users of our products, as well as other tools of the trade. Someone asked about the Fein, and it was overwhelmingly the best of its peers. There's a Dremel model and someone else that costs less, but the Fein is king for the professionals. (disclaimer: we don't make, market, or otherwise have anything to do with Fein. I was just using the professional tool forum as a qualifier for the review.)

To make this bike related, do not, I repeat, do not use it to cut a carbon steerer tube!

Yes, I've been watching those "informercials" for quite some time. I've begun some remodeling projects around the house and can see the need for that type of tool.
