And I only went in for some socks.!!!!!

Looks like I have a new riding partner. Might have to train her up a bit but won't be long before she is running rings round me.

Yesterday was a washout. Up early- Bikes prepared for a ride and It started raining. Only about 1" in 30 minutes but I was not going out in that. Then it stopped and a wind came up- about 25mph of it. Then it rained and the wind stayed- So I took Ferne out to see what would fit her.

Problem was my little darling would not me and Fernes Dad get the Star Wars one- It had to be the Pink one. Tried everything to convince her that the other one was more practical but she was insistant- there was no way her daughter was getting on any other bike than a Pink one.

Next time I am leaving my daughter at home and Let Ferne pick the one I decide on.

Pink suits her and it's a great color for passing other riders. Or, colour.

Looking at that picture, I think this thread should be moved to Alt-bikes.

She's way cute. But I have to tell you, ever since I heard Garrison Keiler tell that old joke about Ole and Lena taking care of the grandkid, and how Lena went shopping for a while and when she got back told Ole he needed to change the kid's diaper, that it was loaded, and he told her no way, the box says fits up to twenty pounds and no way is it that full yet, I just can't see a kid in diapers without chuckling.

Well, Mr Stap, you've often posted that n+1 is only right and, indeed, inevitable

So why not Pink + Star Wars? Eh? Eh? Don't want the poor little mite to enter the cycling world with a sense of dutiful austerity and limited aspiration. To be a cyclist, surely the early life experience should reinforce the deep need for MORE KIT AND STUFF!

(She's lovely!)

But, for us bikenerds, you don't say much about your sock purchase. I think we should be told. More geekhosiery data is urgently required

Shows how naive I was- I Went to buy socks for Ferne Whats That? £3.50 for 5 pairs? £70 later and------

But N+1 hit when I saw this- or rather the Black and Green one. AND it has already done many trips round the garden- that basket on the back is ideal for veggie collecting. And a major trek out to the other grandparents yesterday. 1/2 mile there and 1/2 mile back. I am certain that the legs are stronger already. Not Fernes- She is "typical" stoker material on tandems---But Mums legs ached today.

And Bike no 3 or 4 for Ferne is already in the bike shed.
