TDF today--Saturday (posted before the stage)
Today and the TDF has some significence to me. They are climbing MT Ventoux. They are doing the climb from Bedouin to the top and is the Southern slope. I did the easy route of the northern slope and due to the Cloud at the top (As in the attachment) I never saw the view.
That climb from 6k to 14k looks as though we might have an extended pelaton fairly quickly on this one.
So Any one want to guess the Stage winner?
I'll say Cadell as I watched him earlier on this year on the "Dauphin" and he performed well.And he hasn't done anything so far this year yet.
Edit- Found a few pics- The first of of me at around the 14K mark. second and I am still going but the fog set in after this. And the final was once I got back to the wife sitting comfortably in the car- She stopped on the tree line as she could not see to drive.

Of all the stages this is the one my vote is for Lance. I realize he doesn't stand a chance and it would be awesome if he made it as one of the first 3 but this would be such a statement if he brought this one home - go Lance!

This is after the fact.
I gained a lot of respect for Andy Schleck after watching him climb today. Even Contador showed some grimacing towards the end, Schleck showed incredible climbing skills being out front and setting the pace for so much of the climb. That takes one heck of a lot of effort. You also have to give a lot of credit to Lance for securing a podium finish by fighting off attack after attack. What he lacked in physical ability was more than made up by simply riding very smart the entire tour.
Oh yeah-how in the heck you and ride a bike up that road at the speed they were going with all the people on the road is simply amazing.

Forget the crowds- How do you ride a bike at that speed on the Flat- let alone up the hills.
Barring the two in front that went for it- This was a tactical stage today. Thought Pelazotti had it when he took the chance and went but he just did not have the stamina to keep going.
