Meet BOB!

A new freind has entered my cycling world and his name is BOB.

BOB promises to be a devout bicycle follower and he is dedicated to helping me reduce my carbon footprint just a bit more. He'll accompany me on bike errands and help me to carry stuff around, he's good at that sort of thing. He's not prejudiced as he guarantees to tag along whether I ride an upright or a recumbent. He'll even come along when I ride the tandems, again either the upright or the recumbent. Now I call that dedication!

BOB's had experience. He's been out on two trips prior to signing on with me, though to look at him you'ld never guess he's ever been outside at all. He's sturdy and seems to be quite rugged and strong, just the opposite of me. :o

I expect BOB will be a faithful companion to myself and my wife for many, many years.

In the future you will certainly see some pictures of BOB riding merrily along with me on wonderful adventures. Until then you'll have to settle for these two pics of BOB resting on our Living Room floor....

....no, BOB is not the cat. The cat's name is Socks and his job is to snuggle in and keep me warm during the day as I sleep between my night shifts.

Bob looks like he'll be a loyal and trusted friend for many years to come. Congratulations!

I can tell you that the Socks is thinking "If he thinks I'm going to the Vet in this thing, guess again !".

Who was it that use BOB on his XC trip a couple years ago?

Welcome to the forum BOB. Make a note to yourself, we like pictures and pie, and you must ride your age on your birthday. Are you sure you are old enough to be in this forum??

That's a nice lookin buggy you got there Lenny.

Looks good, I will be interested in how well you like it. When you change it from bike to bike do you have to change the skewer too?

Dan Burkhart 01-31-10 06:58 PM

BOB lives at my house as well. Has for 10 years or more. You'll love him.

Yes. After I've sorted out which length skewers I need for which bikes (won't be difficult) I intend to gradually over time, pick up a couple spares. Though it's a piece of cake to swap out the skewers, the end result will be that I'll have a few bikes "Trailer Ready" with skewers and bobbins already installed. Yes, I'm lazy.

Come on Spring!!!

One skewer will work for most dropout widths.. You just flip the bobbins end for end to alter the hitch width.

C'mon folks-need some help here. I'm sure many of you recall our cohort who did the cross country trip west to east solo. He took the southern route and pulled a bob. He gave us regular updates. He orginally packed more than he needed and shipped stuff home. He had some additional supplies sent to to a Post Office in Texas I believe. I think he had a daughter in Texas he visited for a couple days as well.

Seems as if his name started with a C......

ok now that you've got the hauler.... how much weight can you comfortably haul with that unit? I am curious though I doubt I will ever use one.

When I picture this behind a bent, lyrics from War spin through my head.

I found some pictures from a road trip I took with My BOB in 2000. Never a failure or issue of any kind with this piece of equipment.
Ya just hook it on and it goes where you go.
